The first Helicopters Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) training in Indonesia was held at UPNVJ

HumasUPNVJ - UPNVJ in collaboration with FAM ( Fondation De L'academie De Medicine ) and the Airbus Foundation held the first Helicopters Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) training in Indonesia. This activity was divided into 2 series which were held for three days. The first and second days held a seminar which took place at Campus II - UPNVJ Limo Depok (3/12) and for the workshop took place at Pelita Air Services (5/12).

Also present at this event, the Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, Prof. Guritno Suryokusumo, Head of Health Crisis Center-Ministry of Health dr. Budi Sylvana, the Airbus Foundation and FAM teams as well as representatives of government agencies, the Ministry of Transportation, Korlantas, Basarnas and of course the medical team from many agencies as training participants. This activity also presented professional trainers directly from France, including Doctor Herve Roy ( Emergency doctor ), Doctor Pascal Zellner ( Hospital Practitioner ), Doctor Nicolas Peschanski ( Emergency Physician ), and Mr. Ralph Setz ( HEMS Marketing Director ).

Helicopters Emergency Medical Services or HEMS is a training that aims to improve services in using helicopters to handle emergency cases.

Professor of the UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine, Prof. M. Guritno Suryokusumo said that the Hems training was very important because this training is one of the Airbus Foundation's annual programs conducted in selected countries, and Indonesia is one of them.

The UPNVJ Public Relations Team also had the opportunity to conduct an interview with Ralph Setz as HEMS Marketing Director who revealed that this training aims to build awareness or understanding that HEMS is needed to minimize patient mortality (on transit).

Apart from that, Ralph was also very pleased to see the enthusiasm of the participants who attended during the three days this activity took place.
