The implementation of New Student Orientation which is commonly called Introduction to New Student Campus Life (PKKMB) is usually carried out as a place for new students to see first hand the campus atmosphere, get acquainted directly with friends, seniors and teaching lecturers. However, this year prospective new students must postpone the in-person meeting and replace it with an online meeting.

Based on the report submitted by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Ria Maria Theresa, this year's PKKMB will be much different because the material will be given online. Even though it is carried out online, this year's PKKMB must be able to deliver online ospect material by utilizing various creative media that are familiar to the millennial generation. So that even though new students still live in their respective homes, they can get to know the world of higher education which in many ways is very different from the previous level of education.

Based on reports received by the Public Relations team, with the theme "Millennial Patriots of UPN Veterans Jakarta, Ready to Compete in the Era of Society 5.0" this year's PKKMB will be held from 9 to 12 September 2020 by presenting five competent speakers to introduce UPN Veterans Jakarta with their identities as the State Defense Campus.

Technically later, from September 9 to 12 2020, 3,685 new students will receive material conducted by the Chancellor and Deputy Chancellors of UPN Veterans Jakarta and five other speakers, namely the Director General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, Prof. Ir. Nizam, Sandiaga Uno, Indonesian businessman and politician and DR. –ENG. Hutomo Suryo Wasisto, M.ENG, the youngest doctoral degree holder in Germany who is also an engineer in Electrical Engineering who has a career in Germany and serves as Head of the OptoSense Group at the Laboratory for Emerging Nanometrology (LENA), which is a research center at the Technische Universitatet Braunschweig.

Apart from that, Dea Gendyna and Prof. Ir. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, M.Sc., MA, Ph.D who is a former Minister of Defense with a term of office from 22 October 2009 to 20 October 2014.

Even though it is carried out online, it is hoped that this year's PKKMB can make the introduction to campus life more meaningful and effective. Therefore, UPN Veteran Jakarta is facing challenges in the form of preparing policies and protocols that can optimize campus orientation activities so that new students can understand how campus life really is and the learning atmosphere in tertiary institutions.
