HumasUPNVJ - (Press Release - Surabaya, 23 April 2021) Students must be prepared to become a generation that is skilled, innovative, tenacious, and true fighters and leaders. This need is well realized by various elements of government and education leaders in Indonesia. One of them was the launch of the Freedom to Learn Policy - Independent Campus (MB-KM) by the Minister of Education and Culture as stipulated in Permendikbud No. 3 of 2020. The Freedom to Learn Campus Freedom Program is a framework for preparing students to become graduates who are tough, relevant to the needs of the times, and ready to become a leader with a high national spirit.
In synergy with the policies of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Defense has policies especially concerning the rights and obligations of citizens (including students) in the state's defense and security efforts. In order to provide the rights and obligations of every citizen in efforts to defend the country, especially the younger generation, the Ministry of Defense launched a Reserve Component Policy (KOMCAD). This policy 2 was drafted in Minister of Defense Regulation No. 4 of 2021 concerning the Reserve Component Basic Military Training Curriculum.
The learning form of the National Defense Component Basic Military Training Program (Latsarmil Komcad-Defense Negara) is education that is packaged in the Reserve Component Basic Military Training Curriculum. This program is part of the Merdeka-Merdeka Learning Campus activities, in which students are given the opportunity to study off-campus for 2 (two) semesters where these activities are recognized by universities as part of the curriculum of each study program. The length of education is 12 weeks or equivalent to 600 study hours (JP). The National Defense-Reserve Component Training Program is implemented in TNI Education Units or Institutions.
In this regard, UPN "Veteran" East Java, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta together with the Directorate General of Defense Potential of the Ministry of Defense will carry out LATSARMIL activities for the Indonesian State Defense Reserve Component.
The launching of the LATSARMIL Activities for the Indonesian State Defense Reserve Component will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 Widya Mwat Yasa Auditorium 6th floor at the UPN "Veteran" East Java Joint Lecture Building Jl. Rungkut Madya Gunung Anyar Surabaya. The event starts at 14.00 WIB and can be watched on the UPN Veteran East Java Official Youtube Channel.
