HumasUPNVJ - The beginning of June this year can be said to be a lucky year for one of the UPN Veteran Jakarta Student Activity Units, one of which is the Jakarta Veteran Dance Art (STVJ). From the written report, UKM STVJ succeeded in getting quite a proud achievement, namely by getting the 1st and 2nd place winners for traditional dance at the National level in the Kinetic Competition activities. Kinetic is one of the work programs of the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka, especially Field 3 which is engaged in the field of Cultural Arts and Sports. The UPNVJ Public Relations Team conducted an online interview with one of the STVJ members who won this competition, Adelia Fairuz Wirawan. In her interview, Adelia explained the reason she and her team took part in this Kinetic activity, "Because during this pandemic even though many activities stopped, we as the Student Activity Unit did not want to stop achieving and creating, one of which was participating in the competition even though it was held online. , but we are still productive in participating in activities outside the campus, while continuing to practice using the applicable health protocols. And also because the competition has the theme of traditional culture, we as students who also understand a little about culture, especially dance, therefore we want to participate in their event by registering to be participants in a traditional dance competition. he said
Participants involved were from UHAMKA, UPN Veterans Jakarta, Budi Luhur University, and Pasundan University. With a total of 12 participating teams and organized by BEM FISIP UHAMKA online on 5-11 June 2021 and announcement of winners on the Zoom Meeting platform on 15 June 2021.
“Previously we sent 2 teams with a total of 6 people, our training time was only about 10 days and because the time was short, we practiced every day. Our preparation is to practice the dance that we want to compete in diligently and earnestly. And what we prepared, of course, were our dance moves and making them cohesive, then the costumes/dance clothes, and the studio for practice (thank God, the studio where we practiced was facilitated by the campus, in the common hall building).” He continued to tell briefly about the preparation and the team participating in this activity.
“If asked, there are quite a lot of ups and downs, starting from being tired from practicing every day, plus college assignments too, and there are one thing or another that makes one of our teams have to change the dance in h-6 of the competition. But overall we are happy, being able to meet and chat with friends who haven't seen each other for a long time and are also happy to finally be able to practice at the UPNVJ studio again. We are also happy to be able to try 2 new dances at STVJ and the most exciting thing is the moment where we wear the costumes because the costumes make our mood go up even though our bodies are tired. The hope is that other friends can quickly take part in the competition as well and of course whoever is competing representing UPN, whatever the competition, may he win. The message is for friends who want to take part in the race but are still unsure, it's better to just try it first because no one knows what fortune is but keep on participating in the race wholeheartedly, don't be half-hearted and keep up the spirit.” Shut up Adelia
