HumasUPNVJ - Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (KSAD) Gen. Dudung Abdurachman, SE, MM supports the establishment of a new Radiology Specialist Medical Education study program at the Faculty of Medicine, Jakarta Veterans National Development University (UPNVJ).

"Of course I support," said the KSAD when signing a memorandum of understanding between UPNVJ and the Indonesian Army which oversees the Gatot Subroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) at the Indonesian Army Headquarters, Jalan Veteran, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (16/3 /2022).

The establishment of the new study program is a collaboration between the UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine and the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital. To realize the establishment of the study program, on Tuesday (15/3/2022) a Specialist Collegium-1 Visitation was held by assessors from the Indonesian Radiology Collegium at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital.

Apart from discussing the plan to establish a Radiology Specialist Study Program, UPNVJ Chancellor Dr. Erna Hernawati, Ak., CPMA, CA, CGOP also conveyed the possibility of UPNVJ working together in other fields with the Army as an implementation of one of the Three Pillars of Higher Education, namely community service.

"The Army has a TNI Manunggal Entering Village or TMMD program. Perhaps the UPNVJ and the Army could work together on this program as a form of community service from UPNVJ," he said.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding between UPNVJ and the Indonesian Army is a renewal of the memorandum of understanding on education, service, research and community service which was previously signed on 13 June 2016.

The purpose of the memorandum of understanding is to provide mutual benefits between the parties in educational cooperation activities in the fields of medicine, nursing, public health, physiotherapy, and nutrition; health services; study; and community service.

The Chancellor of UPNVJ said that cooperation with the Indonesian Army had been established for a long time because previously UPNVJ was an official university under the Ministry of Defence. The UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine was established based on the Decree of the Minister of Defense and Security of the Republic of Indonesia Number: KEP/01/II/1993.

"The UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine was founded on the initiative of the doctors at the RSPAD," explained the Chancellor.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding between UPNVJ and the Indonesian Army was also attended by all of them and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Taufik Fedrik Pasiak, M.Kes., M.Pd.I and Head of the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital Lt. Gen. Dr. A Budi Sulistya.
