UPNVJ Officially Establishes German Corner

HumasUPNVJ - UPN Veteran Jakarta officially established the German Corner which is located at the UPNVJ Library Lt. 3 . The German Corner was inaugurated directly by the Chancellor of UPNVJ, Dr. Anther Venus, MA., Comm. and German Ambassador to Indonesia, Madam HE Ina Ruth Luise Lepel. The activity began with a meeting between the German Ambassador to Indonesia, HE Madam Ina Ruth Luise Lepel and staff with the Chancellor of UPNVJ, Dr. Anther Venus, MA., Comm. accompanied by staff. During the meeting, the Chancellor of UPNVJ presented UPNVJ's profile and academic and non-academic programs aimed at the entire UPNVJ academic community. (9/11)

Followed by the inauguration of the German Corner which was opened with an introduction from the Head of the UPNVJ KUI as well as the Director of the German Center , Bambang Susanto who conveyed the background for the establishment of the German Center and Corner based on the history and dynamics of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Germany which are expected to be a driving force in the implementation of programs and cooperation in in the fields of education and research, science and technology, and others between UPNVJ and related universities and institutions in Germany. In addition, it can strengthen Government to Government (G to G), Business to Business (B to B), and People to People (P to P) collaboration between Indonesia and Germany. After delivering the introduction, the ribbon was cut as the inauguration of the German Corner which was carried out by the German Ambassador, UPNVJ Chancellor, Head of Culture and Information of the German Embassy, and Head of UPNVJ KUI.

Anter Venus, Chancellor of UPNVJ who conveyed his hopes for the establishment of the German Corner as a center for study and information about Germany for the UPNVJ academic community and priority programs that could involve the UPNVJ academic community and universities/institutions related to Germany. The German Ambassador, in his remarks, expressed his hope that the establishment of the German Corner would increase student motivation to study and work in Germany, increase student knowledge outside the classroom, and increase cooperation and collaboration in the fields of science and research which would not only be useful for universities, but as well as the world, even directed to collaborate with other related German institutions, such as the DAAD for information on studies and scholarships and the Goethe Institute for learning about German language and culture.

The agenda for the inauguration was closed with a Lecture by the Head of Science and Technology of the German Embassy in Jakarta, Ms. Annisa Fitria who explained about cooperation and research opportunities in Germany; Head of Country Office Friedrich Naumann Foundation , Ms. Dr. Almut Besold, who provided information about the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and its focus on political science and human rights; Mrs. Dipl. -Ing. Lilly Wasitova, representative of the German Alumni Association, conveyed motivation to UPNVJ students to study in Germany and experiences while studying in Germany; and dr. Wolfgang Titius who is a retired German Navy doctor who is currently also an expert in the Senior Experten Service (SES) and will provide training to UPNVJ FK students and lecturers for 2 weeks.
