PSVJ Wins 21 Medals at the End of the Year

HumasUPNVJ - At the end of 2022, one of the Student Activity Units in the field of sports, the Jakarta Veterans Pencak Silat (PSVJ) made a proud achievement for the campus. How could it not be, PSVJ managed to get 21 medals consisting of 9 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 6 bronze medals. These 21 medals made the PSVJ team succeed in getting the title of General Champion 2 which was obtained in a national event organized by the Wings of Rajawali- Makassar Peencak Silat National Championship 1 2022, which took place at the Sudiang Sports Center in Makassar.  

The 2022 Makassar National Pencak Silat Championship organized by Wings of Rajawali is a prestigious international-level event to awaken the patriotic and chivalrous spirit of Indonesian youth and spread pencak silat to the international arena.

Pencak silat is a traditional martial art that has various provisions, harmony, balance, harmony between wirama, wirasa and wiraga. Also instill noble character and practice the Silat philosophy. PSVJ UKM's contribution to the championship can be used as a forum for applying martial arts, honing self-defense skills and gaining experience as well as establishing relationships with fellow fighters in Indonesia. This event was held for two days, Saturday - Sunday, 24 - 25 December 2022. Participants from PSVJ were PSVJ UKM administrators and members for class 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 with a total of 10 people.

Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Cooperation, dr. Ria warmly welcomed the PSVJ team who reported the results of activities in the Makassar National Championship 1 2022 which PSVJ had participated in, "To all teams, thank you for making UPNVJ proud, thank you for adding to the achievements of UPNVJ students. Nothing is impossible, everything needs a process, if you always try, God willing, the results will also be satisfying. Academics are still running in balance with your non-academic activities. We hope that the achievements you have achieved will not stop you from working at prestigious events to come," said dr. Ria is full of emotion.

Thariqat Rama Putra, one of the participants who is also the chairman of PSVJ said that the event they took part in was full of interesting stories, there were many ups and downs in their journey but they were able to pass all of them well.
