HumasUPNVJ – The Indonesian International Student Mobile Awards (IISMA) program is being held again at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta in 2023. In order to equip applicants with insight into this program, the UPNVJ Office of International Affairs (KUI) conducted a hybrid outreach on Tuesday (31/01) via a Zoom meeting and also offline at the Nusantara Meeting Room 1 of the UPNVJ Pondok Labu campus. The direct socialization was delivered by the Representative of the IISMA 2022 Working Group, namely Mr. Ir. Andi Rahadiyan Wijaya who is present online.

UPNVJ Chancellor Dr. Anter Venus., MA, Comm who in this case was represented by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. R. Dudy Heryadi, M.Si admitted that the IISMA program was an important focus of attention for UPNV. "IISMA is important because it provides rights and opportunities for students to develop competencies, knowledge in the form of soft skills and hard skills , and study experience at foreign universities as one of the implementations of the MBKM program. Through the IISMA program, students can take certain courses of interest in accordance with the requirements that apply at partner universities abroad and the student's home university.” Dudy said while reading the Chancellor's remarks.

Based on Andi Rahadiyan Wijaya's explanation, IISMA is considered important due to several factors. Today we are entering the industrial era 4.0 which triggers automation. The result is the loss of more jobs than the number of available workers. In addition, internationalization leads students to learn things inside and outside the classroom, including the culture and customs of other countries. There is also an independent campus policy, in this case PTDN as a foundation supported by interdisciplinary courses from partner universities abroad.

The scope of the IISMA scholarship, as Andi explained, includes registration and education fees, PCR, quarantine, and health insurance (covering COVID-19), living allowance costs, flight costs and VISA, as well as emergency funds. So selected students don't need to worry too much about costs because the government and the campus are committed to making it easier for students.

Through this socialization, several conditions for registering for the IISMA 2023 program were also explained. Based on the presentation, it can be concluded as follows:

1. Registered as an active undergraduate student at domestic tertiary institutions under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology

2. Is an Indonesian citizen who resides in Indonesia and does not have dual citizenship status

3. Currently studying in semester 4 or 6 at the S1 level when registering

4. Maximum age of 23 years on 1 July 2023

5. Never took semester off during college

6. Never participated in physical international mobility activities including the Summer/Winter Program, Internship, Exchange, Credit Mobility, Sit-in, Dual/Double Degree or other similar programs that have a credit load (credit-pearing program) during college

7. Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) as evidenced by a final semester academic transcript

8. Send English certification scores with a minimum score of ELTS - 6.0, TOEFL iBT - 78, Duolingo English Test - 100 to the institution code number lISMA;

9. Nominated by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs from each PTDN

10. Not participating in other Merdeka Campus programs while participating in the IISMA program

11. Participate in no more than 1 flagship program of the Merdeka Campus before registering for the IISMA program

12. Never violate the laws in force in Indonesia

13. Willing to comply with all rules and participate in all activities set by the IISMA program

Andi encouraged students by explaining the benefits that would be obtained through the IISMA program, namely; 1) students certainly have the opportunity to study at the world's best university they dream of, 2) credit recognition of up to 20 credits, 3) study subjects of interest, 4) experience new cultures, 5) develop international networks, and 6) develop capabilities for the future.
