HumasUPNVJ – The identity that is very attached to UPNVJ, namely as the State Defense Campus encourages universities to fulfill their obligations to safeguard national defense, one of which is by supporting the eradication of illegal drugs and addictive substances.
Considering this background, UPNVJ synergizes with the Republic of Indonesia's National Narcotics Agency (BNN) to discuss plans for a memorandum of understanding in the context of Prevention and Eradication of Narcotics Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P4GN) and Narcotics Precursors. The signing took place on Thursday (09/02) at the BNN Office, East Jakarta. Basically this collaboration follows up on the memorandum of understanding of cooperation that was previously carried out between the Faculty of Law and BNN for the student internship program.
“... So today's meeting is a follow-up to the UPNVJ Law Faculty FGD. Our aim is to follow up on the activities that have been carried out by the Faculty of Law in the form of an MoU.” The Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. dr. Ria Maria Theresa, SpKJ, MH representing the university leadership.
The Head of Sub-Directorate for National Cooperation of BNN, Ibnu Muzakir brought the idea that the previous cooperation should be expanded again and implemented as the Tri Darma of Higher Education which includes Education and Teaching, Research and Development and Community Service. It didn't stop there, Ibnu suggested that this collaboration could include the Merdeka Campus Study Program.
"With this, we can seek help from UPN friends regarding the prevention of drug abuse, then seek information about drugs from each other. We hope that there will be contributions from UPN regarding how the rehabilitation and socialization process will be about the dangers of narcotics and addictive substances." Ibnu explained in his speech.
Ria also supports the idea. Ria hopes that students who do internships can actually participate in preventing drug abuse according to their capacity so that in the future they can carry out further activities and also be equipped with special skills.
"We agree, sir. Indeed, it would be even more beneficial if this collaboration was not only about apprenticeships but at the same time being part of the tri dharma of tertiary institutions and MBKM. Later this MoU will not only be carried out by the Faculty of Law but all Faculties at UPNVJ so that it can be used as a means of research and community service.” Ria said.
The campus will order the faculty to be serious and live up to this collaboration. In the future, it is hoped that the faculty will include the P4GN program in the code of conduct so that all students will know about it.
