Brilliant Achievement: Industrial Engineering Study Program Wins Superior Accreditation from LAM Engineering

HumasUPNVJ - Good news from the Industrial Engineering Study Program! The Industrial Engineering Study Program has won "Excellent" accreditation from LAM Teknik, an accreditation body that measures the quality of education in engineering. This is a very proud achievement and deserves appreciation.

The superior accreditation given by LAM Engineering shows that the Industrial Engineering Study Program meets high standards of quality education and is in line with the demands of the industrial world. The accreditation process carried out by LAM Engineering includes a comprehensive assessment of study programs, lecturers, facilities, curriculum, and education management.

"We are trying to refer to minimum standards and maximum standards, which must be achieved to obtain Superior accreditation. Standards, for example, are the number of lecturers. What percentage of lecturers must have the rank of doctorate, and how many have the rank of Head Lecturer," said the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for the 2019 period -2023, dr. Ir. Reda Rizal, B.Sc. M.Sc. IPU. ASEAN Eng.

The process of obtaining Superior accreditation goes according to the operational standards set by LAM Teknik. Reda emphasized that his party was carrying out all the processes according to the rules, and did not give special treatment to the assessment team or assessors at all.

Not only at Unggul, Industrial Engineering is also working towards international accreditation. In this regard, Industrial Engineering plans to associate it with international issues, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Specifically, continued Reda, the SDGs issue related to this is a green industry or green manufacturing. "We apply and implement this concept in preparing Study Learning Plans (RPS)," he said.

"So all subjects as much as possible adopt the context of the green industry and the context of defending the country. That's what we are preparing for," continued Reda.

In the future, Reda hopes that what TI has done with all the deans and study programs, can be transferred to other study programs in FT, namely Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering and Electrical Engineering.

In May and June, FT will start preparing for international accreditation from the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE). Specifically, this international accreditation will be prepared for Mechanical Engineering study programs.

"For Industrial Engineering itself, we are still trying to maintain and improve for future development. Human resources, especially lecturers, we prioritize the acceptance of doctorates who are linear with engineering," said Reda.

By achieving this Superior accreditation, the Industrial Engineering Study Program can increase its competitiveness and reputation in the industrial world. Good quality education will attract prospective students to choose the Industrial Engineering Study Program as a place to gain knowledge and develop a career in engineering. Hopefully the Industrial Engineering Study Program will continue to develop and make a positive contribution to the world of education and industry.
