UPNVJ Post-Communication Students Hold Arts and Culture Literacy

HumasUPNVJ - UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) Postgraduate Communication Science students held socialization on the importance of artistic and cultural literacy from an early age to children. The activity collaborated with Chandra Budaya Organizer which was held at the Maritime Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) in Gandaria Selatan Village, Jakarta which aims to increase children's artistic and cultural knowledge. This is a practical activity for the Stakeholder and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) course with the concentration of Digital Corporate Communication.

"This activity is an integral part of the course learning series, namely the implementation of theory and practice in the field," said Yani Hendrayani, Ph.D, UPNVJ Post-Communication Lecturer as well as course administrator, Saturday (18/06/2023).

The USM Malaysia alumnus said that this activity was in an effort to direct and facilitate the implementation of CSR for students and how to understand, map and make good CSR programs for the community.

The Head of UPNVJ Post-Communication Sciences Study Program, Munadhil Abdul Muqsith, Ph.D appreciated the success of this activity, "The UPNVJ Communications Masters Curriculum besides being digital-based is also designed to balance theoretical abilities, research in the field and practice," he said.

The CSR program is carried out through various activities, including dance and culture workshops in the form of dance practices and cultural literacy materials. This activity was held at RPTRA Bahari, Gandaria Selatan Village, which is one of the Child Friendly Cities Program facilities provided by the Government of DKI Jakarta. RPTRA Bahari is a place for learning, exercising, reading through library facilities, as well as a playground for children.

In his remarks given by Mr. Amak Wahidin, a representative from Gandaria Selatan District, he expressed his gratitude to UPNVJ's master of communication science students for their contribution in providing arts and culture workshops to children at RPTRA Bahari. This CSR program is part of efforts to increase child protection capabilities and also supports government programs in implementing Sustainable Development.

The program shares insights related to art and culture to children in the RPTRA Bahari environment, thereby increasing their knowledge of art and culture in general. In supporting this activity, Gandaria Selatan Village also provides full support and thanks UPNVJ students for their contribution to this program.

In this program, Yani Hendrayani, Ph.D, as the coordinator of Stakeholder Relations and CSR courses at UPN Veteran Jakarta, plays an important role in directing and facilitating the implementation of CSR. With his experience as a lecturer and expertise in stakeholder relations and CSR, Yani provides valuable guidance for students in running this program well.

Mira Dwi Septi H, as Founder of Chandra Budaya Organizer gave her remarks at the opening of the Event, "We are proud to see the enthusiasm and excitement of the children when they are involved in this art and culture workshop . We hope that this program can provide valuable experience and knowledge for them, as well as encourage their interest in preserving and appreciating Indonesia's artistic and cultural heritage," he said

This CSR program is expected to be the start of various other innovations in encouraging art and cultural education among children. UPNVJ and Chandra Budaya Organizer are committed to continuing to support positive efforts that contribute to the development of traditional social and culture in Indonesia.
