Embassy of Kazakhstan Gives Guest Lecture at UPNVJ

Public Relations UPNVJ – In order to strengthen the university's international network, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) is implementing various concrete programs, one of which is involving the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Indonesia.

In order to develop the insight of students within the UPNVJ regarding Kazakhstan, the UPNVJ International Affairs Office (KUI) and the UPNVJ Kazakhstan Student Club held a guest lecture entitled "Kazakhstan Lecture: History of Kazakhstan - Traces of Civilization, Values, and Traditions" (13 /10).

Located in the Lab. FISIP UPNVJ Diplomacy, this guest lecture event invited the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Jakarta, represented by Mr. Bauyrzhan Zhaparov, Head of Economic as speaker and Mr. Arnur Tanbay, Head Counselor and Political Section . The activity was also attended by Muhammad Kamil Ghiffary, M.SI., Head of Sub-KUI, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Sharla Martiza Putri K., President of the Kazakhstan Student Club UPNVJ and attended by more than 70 participants from various Faculties in UPNVJ environment.

In this guest lecture, Mr. Bauyrzhan explained various things about Kazakhstan, including history, geography, traditions and education in Kazakhstan. Through this explanation, Mr. Bauyrzhan hopes that UPNVJ students will gain various useful insights and have the opportunity to continue their studies in Kazakhstan.

Not only that, other sources, namely Mr. Arnur highlighted the importance of Kazakh culture and its influence on the world. Mr Arnur discussed Kazakhstan which is known as a place for grape cultivation while Indonesia is known for cooperation in trade.

After the resource person discussed Kazakhstan thoroughly in this short guest lecture session, the activity continued with a question and answer session. This session was quite interactive with various questions asked by event participants. Some of the questions asked were about the history of the Kazakh flag, various efforts by the Kazakh government to attract tourists to the country, as well as questions related to traditional fabrics owned by Kazakhstan such as Indonesian Batik.

The activity closed by inviting the two speakers to visit the Kazakhstan Corner which is located on the 3rd Floor of the UPNVJ Library. During the visit, the two representatives of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Jakarta appreciated UPNVJ's efforts in strengthening networks with partners from Kazakhstan. It is hoped that UPNVJ can continue to establish various other collaborative programs in the future with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Jakarta and other UPNVJ partners from Kazakhstan.
