Ritsumeikan University and UPNVJ Implement Online Teaching Exchange

Public RelationsUPNVJ - Ritsumeikan University and Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University conducted an innovative online teaching exchange program on Thursday, November 16 2023. This collaborative initiative was represented by Assistant Professor Saori Hagai from Ritsumeikan University and Muhammad Kamil Ghiffary from UPNVJ.

This program is the implementation of an agreement between the two institutions which aims to encourage international academic dialogue by using English as a bridge for dialogue.

As part of the exchange, Assistant Professor Saori Hagai delivered a series of lectures on the concept of "Dark Tourism." The discussion explores how some tourist destinations, although rooted in tragic historical events, play an important role in society and contribute to education and social sensitivity.

Muhammad Kamil Ghiffary as a representative of UPNVJ discussed a topic that is very relevant to the current generation: Human Security in cyber activities and domains on social media.

His presentation highlighted how social media impacts individual security and privacy, as well as the dilemmas and challenges faced in keeping personal information and data secure in the digital era.

Ritsumeikan University and UPNVJ's teaching exchange program marks an important step in international educational cooperation, demonstrating both universities' commitment to broadening the horizons and knowledge of each other's students.

By combining expertise and perspectives from both institutions, this program is expected to provide a unique and valuable learning experience for students at both universities.
