HumasUPNVJ - Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) is consistently committed to expanding the scope and improving the quality of education through strategic international cooperation. This effort is in line with UPNVJ's vision to facilitate constructive global interactions with various educational institutions around the world. In order to achieve this goal, UPNVJ plans a number of collaboration activities and academic cooperation with foreign educational institutions, some of which are with De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, Philippines and Ablai Khan University, Kazakhstan.
Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages is a leading university in Kazakhstan that focuses on international education, particularly in the fields of languages, international relations, and culture. Founded in 1941, the university has a strong reputation for fostering global cooperation, making it an important center for the study of international relations in Central Asia. Furthermore, De La Salle College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) is a higher education institution located in Manila, Philippines. DLS-CSB has a strong commitment to inclusion, with a focus on providing access to high-quality education to individuals from all backgrounds, including those with special needs. The college also excels in developing industry-based programs, designed to equip students with practical skills and real-world work experience. With modern facilities and a curriculum that focuses on academic excellence and holistic development, DLS-CSB is a top choice for students seeking a dynamic and relevant education.
This initiative is part of UPNVJ's strategy to strengthen academic capacity and expand international networks. By involving faculties at UPNVJ in this collaborative activity, it is expected that the university can improve the quality of education and related universities can produce comprehensive and productive programs. This effort also aims to support the development of global competencies of students and lecturers and improve UPNVJ's position in the international academic arena.
UPNVJ held a talk show with students of De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, Philippines and Ablai Khan University at the UPNVJ Fisip Diploma Lab. (22/8)
In his remarks, the Head of KUI UPNVJ thanked the guests from De La Salle College of Saint Benilde and Ablai Khan University. He expressed his appreciation for the hospitality given during his visit to the Philippines and for the signing of the MoU with Ablai Khan University. The Head of KUI also hopes that this cooperation can expand collaboration in the future, not only in the mobility of lecturers and students, but also through other academic programs such as double degrees , seminars, and other initiatives. He emphasized the importance of this collaboration to increase understanding of the countries involved, and underlined that this interaction is not only limited to relations between governments, but also between people.
Prof. Shiella Sabalbuto of De La Salle College of Saint Benilde \lancar. She mentioned that discussions on guest lectures between UPNVJ and De La Salle College have been conducted and expressed De La Salle College’s readiness to welcome UPNVJ back to the Philippines. Prof. Shiella also underlined De La Salle’s commitment to engage in research activities, seminars, and other collaborations with UPNVJ.
In this talk show , UPNVJ was represented by three of its best students, namely, Salma (FISIP), Putiara (FH), and Bagas (FEB) who conveyed their views on the diverse education system and culture of Indonesia. Speakers from De La Salle College of Saint Benilde also students, Joven, Sophia, and Allie explained the theoretical approach in their education system and the challenges faced by some students due to financial constraints. They also highlighted the influence of American colonization on a more democratic education system and the dominant use of English. Meanwhile, from Ablai Khan University consisting of 3 students including, Artur, Albina, and Amirzhan gave their views on the education system in Kazakhstan, the changes that have occurred since the beginning of the 20th century, and the impact of globalization on the use of English in education.
In the Q&A session following the presentations, there was a discussion that touched on a variety of topics, including cultural events in Kazakhstan, the influence of Spanish colonization on Tagalog loanwords in the Philippines, and the development of the education systems in the Philippines and Kazakhstan.
Also present, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UPNVJ, Musa Maliki, gave a closing speech with the hope that this discussion can deepen knowledge and facilitate further discussions, both formal and informal in the future.
Not only a talk show, this activity was continued with the signing of the Implementation Agreement (IA) between UPNVJ and De La Salle College of Saint Benilde.
