HumasUPNVJ - Not only students, Lecturers of the Data Science Study Program, Faculty of Computer Science (FIK), Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta have achieved achievements by winning the Huawei ICT Academy award.

This FIK lecturer won two awards at once, Oktaviano Pratama, S.Kom., M.Kom who won the First Prize and Grand Prize at the Huawei ICT Academy Global Final Teaching Competition on March 18-20, 2025.

This global teaching competition specifically for lecturers was attended by lecturers from dozens of countries in the world such as Egypt, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Brazil, and other countries who had previously passed the selection in their respective regions such as Asia Pacific, Africa, and Latin America.

As the main winner, Oktaviano now has the opportunity to advance to the world level by participating in the Global Huawei Teaching Competition which will be held in Shenzhen, China, in 2025.

Please note, the First Prize and Global Prize are the two highest awards given to teachers or lecturers who participate in the teaching competition organized by Huawei ICT Academy .

The competition aims to identify and recognize educators who have outstanding abilities in teaching and transferring knowledge about information and communications technology (ICT), particularly related to Huawei products, platforms and solutions.

In this competition, Oktav brought the title AI Creation, a competition for students that has been running since 2021 - 2025 to help students create digital startups based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology where one of the learning methods is using Huawei ICT Academy.

"Students will not only have the opportunity to create digital startups but also have the opportunity to learn Huawei technology and get free certification from Huawei," explained Oktav when met on Wednesday (26/03/25).

This competition involves lecturers who have provided training or courses to students at various universities or educational institutions, using a curriculum that has been adapted to the needs of the ICT industry.

"This success is proof that innovation in the world of education, especially in the field of AI technology, is increasingly gaining international recognition. This achievement is expected to inspire more Indonesian academics and students to continue to work, innovate, and compete on the global stage," he added.

The First Prize and Grand Prize are awarded to teachers who demonstrate innovation, leadership, and outstanding contributions in educating the younger generation in the field of ICT, as well as being able to apply effective learning principles.

Participants who successfully win this award are entitled to international recognition and the opportunity to continue developing in the field of information technology education, including the possibility of further collaboration with Huawei or other related organizations.
