HumasUPNVJ – Employees of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) who are members of the Cross-Employee Association (ILP) held a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology on Tuesday, May 21, 2025.
This action is a representation of all State Universities with Legal Entities (PTNB) in Indonesia who demand clarity on the status and improvement of the welfare of non-ASN employees.
In this orderly and peaceful action, the participants unfurled banners and delivered speeches touching on a number of crucial issues, including:
- The disparity in employee status between PTNB and regular PTN,
- Uncertainty regarding the mechanism for appointment as ASN or PPPK,
- Inequality in employee welfare benefits and facilities.
Jubaedah Nawir, Coordinator of ILP UPNVJ, emphasized that this action was born from the collective anxiety of PTNB employees who have felt that they have not received legal certainty and fair treatment from the government.
"We are here not only to bring the voices of UPNVJ employees, but also thousands of PTNB employees throughout Indonesia. We only demand justice and certainty of the future, and today, we convey that voice directly to the President," he said to UPNVJ Public Relations.
ILP hopes that the government will immediately open up a more open dialogue space and formulate policies that are inclusive and support PTNB employees—so that they do not continue to be a marginalized group in the flow of bureaucratic reform and university governance.
