HumasUPNVJ – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) has once again strengthened its global cooperation network by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) from the United States. The signing was carried out on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Pondok Labu Campus of UPNVJ.
This collaboration is a strategic step to strengthen the development of education, research, and innovation in the health sector between the two institutions.
Present at this event were the Rector of UPNVJ, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm., along with the leadership of the university, faculty, and the Office of International Affairs. Meanwhile, the UNMC delegation was led directly by Prof. Joachim Voss, PhD, RN, ACRN, FAAN.
Through this MoU, UPNVJ and UNMC agreed to develop a number of strategic programs, including:
- Exchange of students and lecturers,
- Research collaboration in the field of public health,
- Medical simulation training and curriculum development,
- Joint scientific publications and organization of international seminars.
The Chancellor of UPNVJ said that this collaboration is part of UPNVJ's commitment to encouraging internationalization and improving academic quality.
"We welcome this collaboration as a concrete manifestation of UPNVJ's internationalization. UNMC is a very potential partner, and we are sure that this collaboration will have a real impact in strengthening academic and research quality," said Prof. Venus.
In his remarks, Prof. Joachim Voss appreciated UPNVJ's openness in building global partnerships. He emphasized the importance of cross-country cooperation in facing increasingly complex global health challenges.
"We believe that through this partnership, we can create innovation, education, research, and training that have a broad impact, both for Indonesian and global society," said Prof. Voss.
Some of the initial programs planned include online public lectures by UNMC experts, health worker training, and sending UPNVJ students to UNMC on short-term exchange programs.
This collaboration is part of UPNVJ's strategic steps in realizing its vision as a world-class university that remains rooted in the values of national defense.
