UPNVJ Public Relations – In the context of the important role of X-ray or Radiology science in the current handling of Covid 19, the UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine is holding an International Webinar via online. The activity was held on Saturday 20 June 2020 with several speakers who were competent in their fields.
As many as 500 participants, both from related circles and also from the general public, took part in the International webinar which presented speakers including:
- Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa, MD, SpJP(K), FIHA, EFMA, FACA, FICA, FASA, SFGISA.
- Assist. Prof. Dr. Amelia santosa, MBBS, MRCP, MMed., FAMS (Rheumatology).
- Dr. dr. Ade Firmasnya Sugiharto, Sp FM (K).
- Prof. Dr. med. Knut Kroger, MD, EFMA, FACA, FICA, FASA, SFGISA.
- Dr. Dr. Prijo Sidipratomo, SpRad(K).
- Jemmy Hermawan, MD, FGISA.
- And dr. Pukovisa Prawirohardjo, Sp S(K).
This International Webinar was opened by Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa as the moderator and speaker in this webinar conveyed several important points related to Covid 19 such as symptoms and precautions in handling Covid 19. After the opening by Prof. Dr. med. Frans, the webinar was continued with presentations by 6 speakers who presented materials related to the theme of this webinar, namely "The Radiologist's Role in Covid-19".
Prof. Dr. Amelia santosa also explained material with the theme The Rheumatologists Role in Covid 19 , she stated the conditions related to the mortality rate in the current Covid 19 pandemic which has reached 7 million deaths for mortality grade which has reached 5.5% because Covid 19 mostly affects the lungs. lungs, as well as on the immune system. dr. Amelia Santosa explained that patients with Covid 19 usually have an emergency with a lower Commordibit rate. This makes doctors who treat Covid 19 patients have to be careful because even though the patient doesn't look serious, the patient can become critical very quickly. At the end of his presentation, dr. Amelia Santosa said “Covid 19 is a disease that affects many systems. Therefore, treating Covid 19 requires the collaboration of all specialists so that they can diagnose patients as quickly as possible, "he explained.
Dr. dr. Ade Firmasnya Sugiharto in his presentation, he conveyed a number of things such as the importance of protocols in handling the burial of bodies of Covid-19 patients, and also several problems or obstacles related to processes or protocols for burial of Covid-19 patients, as has recently happened in South Sulawesi. In addition, Dr. dr. Ade Firmasnyah Sugiharto also revealed that there are several risks of transmission from the corpse if the correct and appropriate protocol is not followed in the process of burial of the corpse of Covid 19.
Not only that, Prof. Dr. med. Knut Kroger also added that with the theme Aspects of Vascular Medicine Covid 19 , he revealed that Covid 19 is a disease that almost affects many organs in the body, as conveyed by Prof. Dr. Amelia santosa, which also affects the Vascular System . Besides that, in his presentation, Prof. Dr. med. Knut Kroger also said that currently, as in a study as many as 27% of people avoided going to the hospital during the Covid 19 pandemic, due to fear related to contracting Covid 19. At the end of his presentation, Prof. Dr. med. Knut Kroger explained that someone who has PAD or Peripheral Artery Disease, is no more at risk or less at risk than someone who has diseases such as diabetes and more critical liver disease that can be infected with Covid 19.
Dean of the UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine DR. Dr. Prijo Sidipratomo with the theme The Role of Radiology in Covid 19 revealed that in the diagnosis of Covid 19, the laboratory has an important role in determining whether a person has Covid 19 or not, one of which is through PCR. In addition, DR. Dr. Prijo Sidipratomo also explained several CT scan images that showed an image of Ground Glass Opacity and explained changes in the image on the patient's CT scan.
Jemmy Hermawan, MD, FGISA. with the theme Pulmonary Embolism or Pulmonary Vessel Embolism. In his presentation, Jemmy Hermawan, MD, FGISA explained that Pulmonary Ebolism is a complication that is often found in Covid 19 patients and contributes to the death rate of Covid 19 patients.
"In Covid 19 patients, 20% of patients were found to have pulmonary embolism which is in line with the autopsy results in 80 patients in Hamburg, in early March this year." In addition, he explained "It takes a method that is quite precise and timely to detect the presence of Pulmonary Embolism. Because usually when it's too late, the patient's condition will quickly deteriorate within hours, “said Jemmy.
dr. Pukovisa Prawirohardjo in closing explained the Neurologist's Role in Covid 19 . He conveyed several things such as responding to the Covid 19 pandemic, Neurological Clinical Manifestations in Covid 19, and also explained about Neurological examinations in the covid 19 pandemic.
The international webinar was closed by a number of questions from Prof. Dr. med. Frans Santosa to dr. Pukovisa Prawirohardjo and also thanks to all participants who have attended and participated in this International Webinar. Prof. Dr. med.
