Jakarta – Prof. Dr. Bambang Waluyo, SH, MH was inaugurated as Professor of the Faculty of Law of UPNVJ, Wednesday (21/03/18) at the UPNVJ Unity in Diversity Auditorium. The man who was born in Magetan, 60 years ago, was inaugurated as a Professor after delivering his scientific speech entitled "Transformative Justice-Based Law Enforcement Policy Design in Creating an Effective and Efficient Criminal Justice System".

In his speech, Bambang Waluyo conveyed "the selection of the title is a form of response as well as concern over the many criticisms of the settlement of cases in the Criminal Justice System which often takes a long time, is expensive, complicated, and is considered unable to fulfill people's sense of justice".

He also said " through the application of transformative justice, a legal issue is not only seen in the domain of ansich law, but must be viewed from a broader perspective. Thus, in-depth identification and analysis can be carried out on the root causes of the occurrence of these legal problems, whereby this will be able to overcome these problems so that they do not occur again in the future, "he said.

Bambang Waluyo also added " Transformative justice is a comprehensive and holistic approach that does not only seek to restore balance between perpetrators and victims, but also focuses on various efforts that can be made to carry out positive social transformations. Through the implementation of transformative justice, at least it can overcome various problems that are often present in law enforcement practices so far that prioritize imprisonment and revenge. In addition, it is hoped that transformative justice will create a stable order of life because it will be able to encourage the creation of an effective and efficient criminal justice system, so that the process of applying law is not only aimed at providing justice and legal certainty for society, but also at the same time being able to provide benefits. real to advance the life of the nation and state," he concluded.

The event continued with remarks by the Chancellor of UPNVJ, Director General of Science Resources and Higher Education Kemenristekdikti Prof. dr. Ali Gufron Mukri, MSc, PhD and Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia, Doctor Honoris Causa, Hm. Prasetyo, SH. The three congratulated Prof. Dr. Bambang Waluyo, SH, MH and family for the achievements that have been achieved.
