HumasUPNVJ - Menristekdikti Mohamad Nasir encourages people to optimize seats at PTN through independent selection of pathways. Nasir said the ministry facilitated state universities to hold independent selections, in addition to the SNMPTN and SBMPTN routes. Provisions for implementation are submitted to each PTN with a maximum capacity of 30% of the capacity of the study program concerned.
According to the Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Permenristekdikti) Number 126 of 2016 the pattern of admitting new students at State Universities (PTN) is carried out through the SNMPTN, SBMPTN and Independent Selection pathways. After the SNMPTN and SBMPTN have been completed, several PTNs open registration for independent selection, the implementation of which is regulated and determined by each PTN. Independent selection is held to meet the capacity, which is a maximum of 30% of the capacity of the study program concerned.
Mohamad Nasir said that the independent selection was still being held because in the admission of new students there were several factors where the SBMPTN and SNMPTN quotas might not be met. "Maybe they are accepted at other tertiary institutions such as official colleges so they leave the SBMPTN or SNMPTN," he said while reviewing the implementation of the UNDIP independent exam selection.
For this reason, said Nasir, the Ministry is facilitating PTNs to hold independent selections with decisions submitted to each PTN with a maximum capacity of 30%.
“This is so that there are no empty seats on campus. But PTN is still limited because the direction of the president of PTS (Private Higher Education) must also develop. Because of our APK problem which is still low at 31.5%. So it must be pushed forward so that it increases through PTS, "explained Nasir. Nasir also appreciated Undip for carrying out an independent selection with a large number of applicants. According to Nasir, this independent selection was an effort by Undip to defend the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
"Don't accept only local ones, but in all test locations," hoped Nasir.
