HumasUPNVJ - Increasing innovation and digital-based excellent service The UPN Veteran Jakarta Library (UPNVJ) officially launched the Kubuku E-book application and Android-based Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) which was conducted online, on Friday (18/02/22).

"The library has had quite a significant impact with the Covid-19 pandemic, the drastic decrease in the number of visitors has made us look for new innovations so that library visitors can continue reading from home," said Fajar Nugroho, Head of UPT. The UPNVJ Library when submitting its report to the UPNVJ academic community which is done online.

Fajar also explained that later the academic community which includes students, lecturers and education staff can install the application with the username and password that has been sent to each email registered in the academic system and staffing system.

"Everyone can enter our application using the username and password that we have sent to their respective e-mails, so that everyone can visit the UPNVJ library digitally," explained Fajar.

Interestingly, there is the newest feature in the Android-based Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), namely the donation feature, so that if anyone wants to donate books, they can do so through the application, not only books but can be in the form of cash which will later be used to add to their book collection.

The second Android-based Kubuku Ebook application is useful for finding book locations through applications. In this new innovation program, visitors no longer use computers in the library to search for books, but can independently search for book locations available in the UPNVJ library.

In his explanation, Fajar also said that previously the library also had several applications including library automation systems, repositories, library websites which were also continuously updated.

At present the library facilities are equipped with care checks, filling in attendance lists of library materials, electronic materials, OPAC (information search facility or collection bibliography, storage lockers, free internet and prayer rooms with operating hours Monday to Friday 07.30 – 16.00 WIB.

The services provided are library circulation or administration services, reference services, digital services, audio-visual services, educational services.
