HumasUPNVJ – In order to welcome new student admissions, UPN Veteran Jakarta is holding a Webinar on UPN Veteran Jakarta 2022 New Student Admissions on Thursday, 10 February 2022. The aim is to inform both about the UPN Veteran Jakarta campus itself and of course the new student admission system that is implemented. Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm directly participated in providing related information to webinar participants who came from various regions in Indonesia.
The webinar began by introducing UPN Veteran Jakarta to webinar participants consisting of two campuses. The main campus is located in Pondok Labu, South Jakarta and the second campus is located in Limo, Depok. UPN Veteran Jakarta has 7 Faculties and 29 study programs with 7 study programs accredited A and 22 study programs accredited B. Of the 29 existing study programs, UPN Veteran Jakarta in 2021 is known to have one new study program, namely S1 Physiotherapy which is a study program The first Bachelor of Physiotherapy in Java and the third in Indonesia.
After introducing the UPN Veteran Jakarta campus, Venus then focused on discussing the pattern of admitting new students at UPN Veteran Jakarta along with the schedule for each entry route. In principle, the pattern of admitting new students at UPN Veteran Jakarta follows the standards set by the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT). There are three admission patterns: 1) SNMPTN (December-March), 2) UTBK SBMPTN (March-June), and 3) Independent (June-August).
Furthermore, Venus explains each of these reception patterns. The SNMPTN acceptance pattern is an acceptance pathway based on academic grades only or academic grades and other achievements (as determined by the PTN) with a minimum acceptance quota of 20%. Then the UTBK SBMPTN acceptance pattern is based on the UTBK results only or the UTBK results and other criteria (which are determined jointly by the PTN) with a minimum quota of 50%. Meanwhile, the independent admission pattern or at UPN Veteran Jakarta is called Independent Selection (Sema) has a maximum quota of 30%.
Specifically for the Sema pathway, UPN Veteran Jakarta divides the acceptance pathway into two, namely the academic pathway and the achievement pathway. The academic path itself is seen based on the accumulated UTBK SBMPTN scores alone, while the achievement path uses a combination of academic pathway graduation criteria with Academic/Non-Academic Achievements. Achievements that can be taken into consideration are 1) Achievements in Science, Sports and Arts Olympiad ranking 1-3 at Regency/City, Provincial, National and International levels in the last 3 years, 2) Hafiz Alqur'an at least 10 Juz, 3) OSIS Chairperson who served for at least one period, 4) YouTube Content Creator of at least 10,000 subscribers and 100,000 viewers .
Referring to the life motto adopted by Venus " Vivir Con Miedo Es Como Vivire Medias " which in Indonesian means "To live in fear is half to live", Venus advised prospective new students not to be afraid to take the university entrance test. "That's Spanish. Vivir con miedo es como vivire medias means life lived in fear is a life half lived in English. Living in fear is half living. So don't be afraid even if you choose to go to a certain university, for example for SBMPTN or SNMPTN, don't be afraid. But you have to count too. So life takes courage," Venus said
The webinar activity was then followed by a question and answer session. The enthusiasm of the participants was so great that it was marked by the many questions asked by SMA/SMK/MA equivalent students, teachers, and even students' parents.
