HumasUPNVJ - UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) this year again held training for Trainers/Facilitators (Training for Trainers) in the PEKERTI program (Improvement of Basic Instructional Technique Skills) for young lecturers and AA (Applied Approach) for senior lecturers and older experienced.
This year's training was held in collaboration with the Indonesian Education University (UPI). Today (10/07) the activity was officially opened online via Zoom Meeting and will last for 12 days until July 22 at P4TK, Bojong, Depok. There were 156 lecturers participating in the training.
The main objective of the Pekerti and AA training activities is to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the classroom. Based on the hope conveyed by the UPNVJ Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs in his introduction, through this training at least lecturers can understand how to make LPS, how to evaluate, how to manage classes, etc.
There are approximately 400 lecturers in the UPNVJ environment and not even half of those who have received Pekerti and AA training. This happened because using the conventional method as in previous years, the participants involved were limited to only 30-40 people per year. Therefore Dr. R. Dudy Heryadi, M.Sc as UPNVJ Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs wants to accelerate, "I want to accelerate because I think that character (especially) is our basic capital to become a teacher." Said Dudy in his speech.
With that in mind, it is hoped that all lecturers at UPNVJ this year or at the latest next year will receive training, especially Pekerti. "Because we want an acceleration like this, we also encourage friends at UPN who can also help friends at UPI as facilitators or trainers or resource persons for this AA and Pekerti activity. So at the same time we are also trying to design a TOT training." Duddy explained. Through TOT, it is hoped that it will produce Pekerti and AA facilitators who will be able to train other lecturers.
The collaboration that was carried out with UPI basically aims to share information and experiences with each other in order to facilitate UPNVJ lecturers who are participating in this year's training. As is known, UPI as a university with an educational identity has more knowledge about teaching and learning. Therefore UPNVJ enthusiastically wants to learn from UPI.
UPI Education Directorate Director Dr. err. nat. Asep Supriatna, M.Si said lecturers must often reflect on experiences in their learning and of course also share with other lecturers so that this experience can be utilized and become an inspiration for other lecturers.
The sharing session that will take place later will mainly teach lecturers about how to teach students effectively and efficiently both in the face-to-face and online teaching and learning process. Apart from that, the sharing session conducted with UPI will bring UPNVJ on how to empower the learning management system .
When viewed from a participative learning system , lecturers are required to have knowledge through a repersonalitative process from reading results, searching for a lot of information. The goal is that the content and context of a teaching material can stick in the mind for re-contextualization to produce learning designs.
