LP3M Conducts In House Training: Design Thinking and Practice in Project Based Learning (PjBL)

HumasUPNVJ - Institute for Research and Community Service (LP3M) at the Jakarta Veterans National Development University (UPNVJ) has just held an In House Training event with the theme "Design Thinking and Its Practice in Project-Based Learning (PjBL)". The purpose of this activity is to improve lecturers' ability to generate innovative thinking and apply project-based learning with a Design Thinking approach.

This In House Training event raised the importance of the Project Based Learning model, which uses projects or activities as learning media. Through this approach, each student has the opportunity to explore material in a meaningful way for himself and collaborate with fellow students. Project-based learning allows students to carry out in-depth investigations of real-world topics, providing valuable experiences that can enhance students' learning abilities and efforts.

Design Thinking is also the main focus in this event. Design Thinking is a series of mindsets with action plan stages that assist academics in solving problems, increasing stakeholder satisfaction, and producing innovations according to needs. By combining the concepts of Project-Based Learning and Design Thinking, it is hoped that lecturers will be able to apply innovative approaches to the learning process in the Higher Education environment.

Satria, Head of LP3M UPNVJ, stated, "This In House Training is held to assist academics in facing various challenges, as well as provide insight and skills in applying the Design Thinking method in project-based learning."

The purpose of this event is to improve the ability of lecturers to generate and select innovative thoughts in implementing project-based learning using the Design Thinking approach.

This activity involved lecturer representatives from various faculties within UPNVJ. Each faculty assigns 10 lecturers consisting of Study Program Coordinators, GKM, and Course Coordinating Lecturers.

As a guest speaker at this event, Dr. Dwi Indra Purnomo, STP. MT, Deputy Director of Indonesia Creative Cities Network and Winner of the Initiative Award. He will share knowledge and experience regarding the application of Design Thinking in project-based learning.
