UPNVJ Holds Skills Test for Tahfizh Achievement Path in the 2023 Independent Selection

HumasUPNVJ - Monday, 3 July 2023 - Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University (UPNVJ) has carried out the tahfizh achievement path test as part of the 2023 independent selection process. The tahfidz Al-Quran skill test took place at the Mamba'ul 'Ulum Mosque, UPN Veteran Jakarta Pondok Labu Campus, South Jakarta.

Of the 17 verified prospective participants, 14 people were declared eligible to take the exam, while 3 participants chose to withdraw. Therefore, the total participants tested were 11 people.

Ustad Suprima, S.Pd.I, M.Pd.I, who acted as an examiner in this exam, stated that the participants who attended had different abilities, "Thank God, there were variations in the strength of the participants' memorization. Some had a certificate of memorizing 30 Juz, but recite it fluently only at 10 Juz. In addition, there are also those who memorize 30 Juz, but only 5 Juz fluently. This shows that memorizing the Al-Quran is not an easy thing. Just being able to memorize is not enough, but keeping it is also a difficult thing."

This skills test is a verification or confirmation of certificates issued by participating institutions, foundations or Islamic boarding schools. This was done by UPNVJ as part of the self-selection.

Suprima added that the exam went according to plan and there were no problems so it could be completed on time, "Thank God it went smoothly, until 11.50 am all 11 participants were tested. The exam process went well and the participants were able to demonstrate their ability to memorize the Koran well. ”

For students who are accepted through this route, UPNVJ plans to cadre and involve them in national events such as the National Student Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) which is usually held every two years by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.”

This selection process is one of UPNVJ's efforts to find prospective students who have expertise in memorizing the Koran and are committed to developing academic and religious potential on campus. Hopefully the participants who pass this exam can contribute to enriching the academic and religious environment at UPNVJ.
