HumasUPNVJ - The Chancellor of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta Anter Venus was present in person to open the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) for the 2024/2025 Academic Year at Tennis Indoor Senayan Jakarta, Monday, August 12, 2024.
Carrying the theme “Continue to Achieve for UPNVJ to Advance,” Venus opened her speech in front of more than 4,300 students by introducing the meaning behind the name of her beloved campus.
"UPN Veteran Jakarta was founded by fighters, veterans, who then changed their orientation from taking up arms and expelling the invaders, to taking up pens to enlighten the nation's life," said Venus.
"In UPN people flows the blood of fighters. That is why our campus is called the National Defense Campus," he continued.
Specifically, Venus emphasized the words “development” and “veteran” as part of the name UPNVJ. He said that veterans founded UPNVJ with a development mission, as part of their contribution to advancing the nation’s life.
The spirit of all UPNVJ academics, continued Venus, is "the spirit of building, the spirit of fostering, and not destroying or damaging."
"But the spirit can make this nation, this country, more advanced," he said.
UPNVJ's Series of Achievements
In accordance with the theme of PKKMB 2024, Venus encourages all UPNVJ academics to excel in order to advance the name of the university.
Since 2019 until now, UPNVJ has been able to maintain its achievement as a state university with the highest average UTBK at the national level. This year, UPNVJ is ranked 9th nationally along with several other well-known PTNs.
In addition, UPNVJ also made achievements in terms of Key Performance Indicators (KPI). UPNVJ managed to achieve the highest position of excellence in KPI PTN-BLU category KPI 8, and a high position of 10 percent KPI in 2023 in the KPI PTN-BLU League.

UPNVJ has collaborated with campuses in a number of countries, such as Kazakhstan, Turkey, Malaysia, Japan, Russia, Thailand, Brazil, Germany, Australia and Brazil.
UPNVJ's achievements also shine in non-academic fields. Since the beginning of 2024 until last July, UPNVJ students have won 145 achievements at the national level and 34 at the international level.
