LAUNCH OF NATIONAL SELECTION FOR NEW STUDENT ADMISSIONS (SNPMB) IN 2025

HumasUPNVJ - SNPMB-Jakarta : The 2025 state university entrance selection system organized by the National Student Admissions Selection Committee (SNPMB) was officially opened on Wednesday (11/12/2024). Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 48 of 2022 concerning the Admission of New Students for Diploma Programs and Undergraduate Programs at State Universities, there are three entry routes, namely the National Selection Route Based on Achievement (SNBP); National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT); and Independent Selection. The SNBP and SNBT routes are fully managed by the SNPMB Committee, while the Independent Selection route is fully managed by State Universities.

This year, the SNPMB Committee implemented the principles of flexibility, efficiency, transparency, fairness, prohibition of conflict, and accountability, which are expected to bring a spirit of justice and transparency during the selection process. A number of innovations were also launched this year, including an additional 5% quota of eligible students for schools that use the e-report system on SNBP and the freedom for students to choose up to a maximum of four study programs to support prospective students in exploring their potential and interests and choosing study programs according to their potential and interests on SNBT.

The SNBP pathway uses an academic achievement tracking approach through report card scores and considers other academic and non-academic achievements. SNBP participants are final year SMA/SMK/MA/Equivalent students in 2025 who have a record of superior achievement. Each PTN sets a minimum quota of 20% for this pathway. The selection process begins with the filling in of student report card data by the school through the School and Student Database (PDSS) system.

The SNBP Pathway stage for schools begins with the Announcement of School Quotas on December 28, 2024; Objection Period on December 28, 2024–January 17, 2025. Then Registration of School SNPMB Accounts, ranking of eligible students, and Completion of PDSS on January 6–31, 2025.

The SNBP pathway stage for students begins with the Student SNPMB Account Registration stage on January 13–February 18, 2025. SNBP registration by eligible students on February 4–18, 2025. The announcement of SNBP Results is scheduled for March 18, 2025 and the SNBP participant card download period is February 4–April 30, 2025. The Re-Registration Schedule for participants who pass the SNBP can be seen on the page of each PTN in question.

On the SNBT pathway, the SNBT pathway stage begins with Student SNPMB Account Registration on January 13–March 27, 2025. UTBK and SNBT registration will be held on March 11–27, 2025. UTBK implementation will be carried out in one wave for 10 days with two sessions per day on April 23–30 and May 2–3, 2025. The announcement of the SNBT Pathway Selection Results is scheduled for May 28, 2025. Then the UTBK Certificate Download Period is on June 3–July 31, 2025.

Participants of the SNBT pathway must first register and take the Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK), which is the basis for the SNBT selection process. Each participant can only take the UTBK once, and the results are only valid for the SNBT selection and PTN admission in 2025. PTN provides a minimum quota of 40% for this pathway.

UTBK participant criteria include:

· High School/Vocational High School/Islamic High School/Equivalent graduates in 2023, 2024, and 2025;

· Package C graduates in 2023, 2024, and 2025 with a maximum age of 25 years (as of July 1, 2025).

All schools and participants are required to have an account on the SNPMB Portal (https://portal- snpmb.bppp.kemdikbud.go.id). Schools that already have an old SNPMB account do not need to create a new account. Meanwhile, all participants, including gap year, are required to create a new SNPMB account.

In terms of choosing a study program in SNBT 2025, SNBT participants are allowed to choose a maximum of 4 study program options, consisting of 2 academic program options (Bachelor's Degree) and 2 vocational program options (Diploma Three and Diploma Four/Applied Bachelor's Degree). The difference in SNBT 2025 compared to SNBT last year in terms of choosing a study program is in 3 study program options and 4 study program options; while in 1 study program option and 2 study program options, there is no difference, namely participants are free to choose any study program.
