Public Relations of UPNVJ – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) has once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening national character and the spirit of defending the country among students through the opening of the “Actualization of National Defense in Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) Program,” which officially started on Monday, April 12, 2025.
The activity was opened with a morning ceremony at the UPNVJ Limo Campus led by Dr. Ridwan, S.Sos., M.Si., as the Head of the UPNVJ National Defense Study Center. The ceremony was attended by students participating in the ABN MBKM program from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and the Faculty of Computer Science, including ABN students from previous batches.
In his speech, Dr. Ridwan emphasized that the actualization of national defense is a unique identity of UPNVJ as a campus born from the spirit of struggle.
"In the midst of the dynamics of the times and global challenges, students must remain rooted in national values. ABN MBKM is not only about freedom of learning, but also the responsibility to become agents of change who love the homeland," he said.
This program is an annual UPNVJ agenda held at the beginning of each semester. For the next five days, participants will receive intensive training related to the values of national defense. After that, they will be placed in various regions to apply their knowledge and national spirit directly in the community.
Dr. Ridwan hopes that the values of national defense instilled in this program can be implemented by students, both in their personal lives and in real contributions to the nation and state.
"The spirit of defending the country must continue to live and be a guideline in every step of students, both on and off campus," he added.
The opening activity was continued with a material session by Dr. Ridwan as initial preparation for students before being sent to the field.
