UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Participates in National Sailing

In the context of National Defense Day on December 19 2017, 100 student representatives and 10 assistants from UPN "Veteran" Jakarta took part in the "Indonesian Student State Defense National Cruise and International Symposium in support of Nawacita" carried out by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education along with several other Higher Education Institutions supported by the Indonesian Navy. The activity lasted for 6 days from 18 to 23 December 2017.

The 2017 Indonesian Students State Defense National Sailing Event was opened by the Director General of Learning and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education Prof. Ahmad Intan at the East Fleet Command (Armabar) Surabaya, Wednesday (20/12).

While sailing the students took part in several activities such as Focus Group Discussions (FGD), Fun Games , Simulations, Observations, and Field Practices which were directed at the Formation of the Character of Defending the Country. The total number of participants who took part in this year's State Defense National Cruise was 1,000 students and 100 assistants from 17 PTNBs (New State Universities) throughout Indonesia. All participants sailed using the KRI Banjarmasin from Surabaya to DKI Jakarta.

This National Defending National Cruise aims to increase students' State Defense Awareness, form the character of maritime love, build student unity and unity in a professional manner, and increase maritime global insight in students.

This activity was closed by releasing the participant's sign by Prof. Ahmad Intan who was attended by Chancellors from PTNB who took part in this year's National Defending National Cruise. followed by an International Symposium at the Kolinlamil of Tanjung Priuk Port, Saturday (23/12) North Jakarta.
