Develop Interest in Reading, UPNVJ Signs MoU with National Library

perpustakaan_nasional_(4).jpeg HumasUPNVJ - On March 14 2019 at the Bidakara Grand Pancoran Hotel, Jakarta a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on Library Cooperation between the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia and UPN "Veteran" Jakarta. The signing of the MOU was carried out by 36 State Universities in Indonesia including the Chancellor of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Erna Hernawati and Head of the National Library Muhammad Syarif Bando.

The signing of the MOU on Library Cooperation was part of a series of events at the National Coordination Meeting (RAKORNAS) with the theme "'Librarians Work Towards Social Inclusion-Based Libraries to Improve Community Welfare'".

In his remarks, the Minister of Home Affairs said that this collaboration aims to increase interest in reading in all circles, especially in the younger generation "I hope that the signing of this collaboration can increase interest in reading in all circles, especially in the younger generation, besides that it can improve library services in all agencies, and developing management and improving librarians," he said at the opening of the 2019 RAKORNAS in the library sector.

The scope of Library Cooperation between the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia and UPN "Veteran" Jakarta in the text of this MOU includes cooperation in the development of human resources in the library sector, development and utilization of the Inlislite library automation application, ICT development in the field of library and information technology, development of library collections, and scientific meetings and research , preservation of printed works of record (KCKR) as well as promotion of libraries and development of a reading culture.
