HumasUPNVJ - The 2019 Puspiptek Innovation Festival (PIF) which carries the theme Innovation Without Limits is again being held for the 3rd time by the Science and Technology Research Center (Puspiptek). PIF was first held in 2017, and this year is the first year that UPN Veteran Jakarta has the opportunity to attend to present the results of innovations from lecturers and students.
The activity, which was held from 3 October to 6 October 2019, was directly opened by the Secretary General of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Ainun Na'im at Graha Widya Bhakti, Puspiptek, Thursday (3/10/2019).
Ainun Na'im said the 2019 PIF aims to increase science and technology capacity and innovation in Indonesia, socialize science and technology products produced by various institutions, expand collaboration networks between research institutions, universities, government, industry and society.
"According to the theme, innovation is very important and without limits for the overall development of the Indonesian nation, if we measure it from the level of income, this element of innovation has a very big role to change our income," he said.
He also hopes that PIF 2019 can make a major contribution to economic development in this country. "Hopefully with the implementation of PIF, it can develop a significant economy in our country," he said.
In the 2019 PIF event, UPN Veteran Jakarta is the only university that has the opportunity to present various innovations both from technology and food. It is recorded that for the next four days UPN Veteran Jakarta will display 19 innovation titles.
On the first day, 5 innovation titles were displayed, namely Biomedical journal of scientific & Technical Research, Basuki circumcision tool (Smart Klamp practical circumcision tool with 6 sizes, the first in Indonesia), Nutri socio Techno Entrepreneur (Innovation of nutritious food and herbal ice cream), Pectin from Jeruk Lime Peel (Lime peel waste which is used to make pudding and free radical scavenger), 10 GT Fishing Vessel as an alternative means of electrification at PPI Cituis Tangerang Regency.
The visitors, who came from elementary school, junior high school, and mechanical engineering schools as well as students from Jabodetabek, enthusiastically saw and understood the various innovations presented as a means of gaining new insights and knowledge, and it is hoped that this event will motivate the younger generation to compete in express innovative creations.
