HumasUPNVJ - UPN Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ), Pondok Labu, on Friday, June 30 2023, witnessed the slaughter of sacrificial animals which involved elements of lecturers, education staff, students and DKM Mosques on their beloved campus. The activity which began with this coordination received appreciation from Suprima, S.Pd.I, M.Pd.I, the head of the Idul Adha 1444 H Activities Executive, who expressed his joy because the event ran smoothly. He also provided information about the number of sacrificial animals consisting of three cows and five eight goats.
Not only involving internal campuses, it is planned that the meat from this sacrifice will be distributed to mustahiq, including UPN Veteran Jakarta residents and local residents in a total of around 300 packages. Suprima also expressed her gratitude to the sacrificers from the leadership of the chancellor, vice-chancellor, deans, lecturers, and all education staff who contributed part of their fortune to sacrifice on the UPNVJ campus.
The process of distributing meat to all mustahiq is carried out after the Friday prayer and lasts until 15.00. Asep Kamaludin, Deputy Dean of FISIP who was directly involved in the implementation of the qurbani, said that this activity was not only full of good values, especially in the educational aspect which involved students, but also a realization of concern from the leaders and all academics who care about local communities. He hopes that this implementation will be even better in the future.
In addition, on Thursday, June 29, the Eid al-Adha prayer was also held at the Limo UPN Veteran Jakarta campus. This event involved lecturers, education staff, students, and the surrounding community. The sermon was delivered by Ustad Akmal Rizki Gunawan Hasibuan, MA The positive response from the local community towards the implementation of the Eid al-Adha prayer was very encouraging. They hoped that this kind of activity would not be the first and could continue to be carried out at UPN Veteran Jakarta.
With the activities of slaughtering sacrificial animals and Eid al-Adha prayers, UPN Veteran Jakarta provides a real example of the values of kindness, caring, and the spirit of sharing with the surrounding community.
