Improving Pedagogic Competence, 60 UPNVJ Lecturers Participate in AA Training

HumasUPNVJ - As many as 60 lecturers from the Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University (UPNVJ) attended Applied Approach (AA) training at the Business and Tourism BBPPMPV complex in Bojongsari, Depok City. The training lasts for six days, from 17 to 22 July 2023.

AA training is a continuation of Instructional Engineering Training or PEKERTI. AA can only be attended by lecturers who have previously participated in PEKERTI.

" Applied Approach is a training program designed to increase pedagogic competence for lecturers," said the Deputy Chairperson of PEKERTI, AA, and TOT, Dr. Kusumajanti.

"Learning skills require continuous practice and improvement," he continued.

A total of 60 UPNVJ lecturers who participated in the AA training this time came from seven faculties, namely the Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Health Sciences.

The PEKERTI and AA training programs are one unit. Through the PEKERTI program, young lecturers are trained and guided to plan, implement and evaluate student activity-based learning.

Along with continuing professional career development, lecturers who have attended PEKERTI are programmed to attend AA training.

Based on information from the Ministry of Education and Culture Directorate General of Higher Education (Kemendikbud Dikti), the purpose of implementing Applied Approach training activities is for lecturers to be able to reconstruct learning designs and develop learning resources, both in print and digital formats.

"Hopefully, UPNVJ lecturers can have pedagogical abilities and be able to carry out lesson planning and fun learning activities," concluded Kusumajanti.
