HumasUPNVJ - Research, Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LP3M) within the UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) environment is always committed to developing learning models that are more attractive to students. This is of course in order to realize curriculum development and teaching materials for University Compulsory Courses or commonly called MKWU so as to achieve better results.
Referring to this, LP3M UPNVJ on August 1 and 2 2023 held a workshop called Development of a Project-Based MKWU Learning Model for UPN Veterans Jakarta that is Responsive to Global Challenges. As the name suggests, this activity aims to direct MKWU UPNVJ lecturers to apply a project-based learning model that is responsive and focuses on collaboration between students and lecturers.
The workshop that took place in the Lab. UPNVJ's FISIP diplomacy presented two credible sources, namely Dr. Arqom Kuswanjono and Dr. Setyowibowo Day. Both of them became resource persons for debriefing for MKWU UPNVJ lecturers. The Head of LP3M UPNVJ, Satria Yudha Wijaya, MS., Ak, who was also present and opened the workshop , said that this activity was also a teaching provision for lecturers for the new semester which will soon take place.
Lecturers are advised that in the next semester students will be equipped with the foundation of the state and a strong outlook on life as well as a spirit of innovation in MKWU learning. Satria said that MKWU renewal and strengthening activities need to remain relevant to the times and teach students who will face the future.
This is based on Law 12 of Higher Education which mandates MKWU as a mandatory curriculum for religion, Pancasila, citizenship, and the Indonesian language. The government authorizes universities to implement the MKWU.
Based on the debriefing provided by the two informants, it can be concluded that the basic concept of MKWU should carry the idea of lectures based on what is obtained, stimulated, and practiced.
Outcomes or learning outcomes include reflecting on valuable lessons, targeting the community to know the results, and there needs to be an assessment between groups to increase active learning in the classroom.
Then Dr. Hari mentioned that the strategies and techniques for determining Learning Outcomes (CPL) for project learning are important things to study. Competence must be in accordance with the assessment and the assessment rubric is made from the beginning of the lecture. The sequence begins with the MKWU lecturer team formulating project assignments in student assignments.
Through this workshop , lecturers are given an overview of responsive projection-based learning models. Classroom learning can be done through simulations, discussions, role-plays, and projects that are undertaken together from start to finish. The group project will be made into a pilot and accompanied by a 1-2 minute video as a form of documentation.
