Major General TNI Mar (Ret.) Dr. Nono Sukarno: UPNVJ Students Must Be Different from Other Students.

Public Relations UPNVJ - Still in the series of Training on the Inheritance of the Spirit, Spirit and Values of 1945 for 30 lecturers at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, Major General TNI Mar (Ret.) Dr. Nono Sukarno, M.Th, Head of Training from the Legion of Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia (LVRI) on his occasion said that UPN "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) students must have a different fighting character from students at other campuses.

"We are the successors of warriors who want to provide the soul, enthusiasm and values of 1945

and we are entrusted with providing a legacy for the nation's future generations before we are gone," said Dr. Nono on the occasion when he was met at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium, Monday (15/01/24).

He also said that this activity is an effort for the younger generation to have the character of fighting values and we are tasked with developing strategies for the training provided.

"Opportunities must be maximized as best as possible because we hope that what we provide will enter the souls of the participants, so that they not only know the knowledge but can understand, deepen and internalize the knowledge provided," he said.

In this training, the students were given main and basic material about the value of fighting first, starting with remembering the history of Indonesia, understanding the value of fighting in the history given. These two things are the main material which is continued by general material such as Pancasila and national insight and others.

"As a start, participants will listen to history and ask questions and answers, which will be followed by discussion. The discussion here is divided into several classes, namely small class, medium class and large class," he added.

In its realization, LVRI has collaborated with various institutions and especially universities, including UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, and UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, UPN "Veteran" East Java and Karya Dharma University Makassar.

"We have approximately 400 facilitators who are socializing this matter. We also hope that here UPNVJ, as a campus with the National Defense identity, I hope to have students who are different from other students for that fighting character that we want to emphasize."

On this occasion, Nono also advised that the younger generation must realize that the struggle of today's youth for independence is not easier than that of previous fighters, nowadays there is too much culture coming in, so with this training LVRI is trying to equip them with the values of struggle.

"As a follow-up, the lecturers who have been trained will be monitored periodically so that we know how far they have provided socialization," he explained.
