UPNVJ HI Study Program Finalizes Joint Degree Preparations with Ablai Khan University

Public Relations UPNVJ - The International Relations study program FISIP UPN "Veteran" Jakarta has successfully completed final preparations for the opening of the Joint Degree program with the Department of International Relations of the Kazakh Ablaikhan University of International Relations and World Language.

Efforts to finalize international cooperation were carried out on the campus of Ablai Khan University, Almaty Kazakhstan through a direct visit by a delegation from the IR Study Program FISIP UPNVJ on 19-22 February 2024. This is a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding academic internationalization cooperation agreed in 2022.

The UPNVJ delegation, represented directly by the International Relations Study Program Coordinator Wiwiek Rukmi Dwi Astuti, S.IP., M.Si and the Study Program Secretary M. Chairil Akbar Setiawan, S.IP., MA, arrived in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan on Monday ( 2/19/2024). Both were warmly and kindly welcomed by a number of officials from the Rectorate, Faculties and Departments of Ablaikhan University.

Present at the meeting were Deputy Chancellor for strategic development Dana Kunanbayeva, Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs Assel Chaklikova, Deputy Chancellor for International Cooperation Zhanar Zhyltyrova, Head of the International Affairs Office Tansholpan Abdigappar, Head of the Regulation and Quality Assurance Office Svetlana Temirgaliyeva, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, Law and Business Nuraddin Kudaibergenov, and Head of the International Relations Department Zhansaya Sembayqyzy.

The Joint Degree program finalization meeting was held immediately on the same day and continued the next day.

Over the course of two days, a number of important topics were discussed, especially those relating to credit conversion, choice of courses, number of diplomas issued, study and internship methods, and mechanisms for completing final assignments. Synchronizing the curricula of the two universities is a fundamental aspect for opening the Joint Degree Program. The meeting was successful and resulted in several important agreements.

One of these agreements is that the Joint Degree Program between the HI FISIP UPNVJ Study Program and Ablai Khan University will begin opening in the odd semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. Sending students by each university begins in the even semester 2025-2026 or January 2025, where students will spend four semesters of their study period at the host University.

In principle, this Joint Degree Program is UPNVJ's effort to improve the academic quality of students in the spirit of academic internationalization. The first International Class will be opened in June 2024, which will cover the Joint Degree program with Ablai Khan University, Kazakhstan.
