Public RelationsUPNVJ - Medical Faculty student Fahmi Kamaludin won the Mahardika Work Award at the 72nd Graduation Ceremony of the Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University at the Jakarta Convention Center on Saturday, April 20 2024.
Fahmi received this award thanks to brilliant achievements obtained from various competitions, especially those that revolved around making posters and videos. In dozens of competitions, he almost always managed to finish in the top three.
Fahmi said that he was a UPNVJ student class of 2020, the year the Covid-19 pandemic started. In his first year, Fahmi focused on adjusting and adapting to the learning system at college which was different from high school.
"Entering my second year of study, I took the courage to try taking part in the poster competition individually," said Fahmi.
"The reason I want to try taking part in the competition is because I personally have a competitive spirit that has been embedded since elementary school, so I always want to develop myself further and compete with other people," he continued.
Fahmi did not immediately achieve victory when he took part in the competition. On the contrary, defeat after defeat actually occurred. However, Fahmi admitted that he never tired of fighting to keep trying, until he finally managed to win a competition after losing 10 times.
After that first win, Fahmi admitted that he became even more motivated to gain experience and meet many great people in person.
"Thank God, by participating in competitions in various cities and universities, I was able to build many relationships and gain a lot of extraordinary insight. I also want to thank the dean and the lecturers for always providing material support and prayers," said Fahmi.
The most memorable activity for Fahmi was taking part in the Andalas Scientific Fair competition at Andalas University. At that time, the competition was held offline in the city of Padang, West Sumatra. Fahmi and the team went there to take part in competition activities for three days.
At the same time, Fahmi also took part in the online Medical Fiesta FK Brawijaya University and HOLISTIC FK HaluOleo University competitions. "So at that time, on the same day, I took part in three competitions at once," said Fahmi.
"It was very hectic because I had to really consider the timing correctly. Thank God, I was able to get through it all, and was given good fortune so that I could win the three competitions," he concluded.
