Prof. Dr. Taufiqurohman, SH, MH, an academic known for his dedication to the world of education, officially received a Decree (SK) as a Professor. The SK was given directly by the Chancellor of UPN “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm today (06/01) witnessed by the Head of the Planning, Finance, and General Bureau Dr. Ahmad Ahsin Thohari, SH, MH and the Personnel Division represented by Dio Aris Setiawan, S.Kom, MM
In an exclusive interview, Prof. Taufik shares his gratitude and the long story of his struggle to reach the pinnacle of his academic career.
"Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah," said Prof. Taufik when asked about his feelings on receiving the decree. For him, the title of Professor is a gift that is not only a personal pride, but also a great responsibility to continue to contribute to the academic world.
However, the journey to this title was not easy. “It was a bloody journey,” he recalled. Prof. Taufik had been collecting the required KUM since 2009, but various bureaucratic obstacles, regulatory changes, and academic challenges delayed the process for more than a decade.
After being a state official, Prof. Taufik continued his Professorship application process. "I had given up," he said. But support from colleagues, such as the Dean of the UPN Faculty of Law at that time, Prof. Halim, became a big encouragement for him to keep going. The process that was full of revisions and corrections finally bore sweet fruit. "When it was finally accepted, everyone was touched. This was not only my hard work, but there was God's intervention," said Prof. Taufik with emotion.
As a Professor, Prof. Taufik is aware of the great responsibility he must shoulder. "Being a Professor is the highest academic responsibility. I feel that I am still far from perfect, even though I have written several books and journals," he said humbly. He plans to convey his academic ideas through scientific speeches and in-depth research.
In his vision, he wants to educate students with strong scientific integrity and responsibility. "Understanding the law must be based on the values of justice and morals. Law without justice is just violence," he said. Prof. Taufik hopes that the generation of students he mentors can bring new breakthroughs in the world of law that are not only based on written norms, but also the values of justice.
He also did not forget to express his gratitude to his colleagues who have supported this long journey. "This pleasure is not only mine, but belongs to all of us. I thank those who always help and encourage me," he said gratefully.
Prof. Taufik's story is real proof that perseverance, support from those around him, and faith in God's plan can bring someone through various obstacles to success. This Professorship is not the end, but the beginning of a great responsibility to continue to contribute to the world of Indonesian education.
The schedule for the inauguration of Professor Taufik has not been officially determined but it is reported that it will be held this year at UPNVJ.
