Dance is a rhythmic body movement performed in a certain place and time for social purposes, expressing feelings, intentions and thoughts. Sounds called dance accompaniment music regulate the dancer's movements and strengthen the meaning to be conveyed. Dance moves are different from everyday movements like running, walking, or exercising. Movement in dance is not realistic, but movement that has been given an expressive and aesthetic form. A dance is actually a combination of several elements, namely Wiraga (body), Wirama (rhythm), and Wirasa (taste). These three elements merge into a harmonious dance form. The main element in dance is movement. Dance movements always involve elements of the human body. The elements of the limbs in forming dance movements can stand alone, join or be continuous.

The annual event organized by UKM STVJ which has the concept of " Touch Of Indonesia " is an event that is planned to become a routine event held by UKM STVJ. The Dance Competitions that are contested are modern dances or dances that are oriented from western countries but do not abandon traditional ethnic elements. It is for this reason that STVJ carries the theme " Heritage Culture, Touch of Indonesia ".

The event, which was held on Friday, 22 May 2015, was open to the public and was attended by 8 participants from high schools and other university students. With a registration fee of Rp. 150.000,- does not reduce the enthusiasm of the participants. The event, which started at 14.00 WIB and took place at Ubin Merah UPNVJ, was lively and aroused the curiosity of other students to see the movements and rhythms of the participants. The “Gita Advayatva” Choir and the UBV Band as well as bands from outside UPNVJ such as the band Old Story, The Bravo and A Pink to the Punk appeared as guest stars for this event.

Appearing as participants, "My Match" participants from Ananda Bekasi High School and "Fuerza" from Mutiara 17 August Bekasi Vocational School said that events like this were the most popular events for " dancers ", because by competing, the soul would grow sportsmanship in each dancer . With an event like this, they can channel their hobbies in the field of "dancing" and explore the courage of participants to be able to compete positively. The location of the place chosen, like the campus environment, is a good strategy to promote the UPNVJ campus because the majority of participants who are still in school can see the state of the UPNVJ campus.
