Law Faculty Students Make UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Proud of the Name at the National Karate Championship

Last October, the UNJ CUP Karate National Championship was held, which was located in Gor Ciracas, East Jakarta. National karate championship organized by Jakarta State University (UNJ). The activity, which is called the UNJ CUP, is held regularly every year with an organizing committee by the Faculty of Sports Science, Jakarta State University.

In 2017 UNJ CUP has held the 6th (six) National Championship which was attended by participants from all contingents and universities in Indonesia. UNJ CUP VI 2017 was held in collaboration with the Sports and Youth Service (DISORDA), DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Indonesian Student Sports Advisory Board (BAPOMI), and the Indonesian Karate-Do Sports Federation.

UPN "Veteran" Jakarta students who took part in this competition were Karunia Pangestu from the Faculty of Law. Participants in this competition numbered approximately 1000 participants from all over Indonesia with the furthest contingent coming from West Nusa Tenggara. This competition was held for 3 (three) days with a knockout match system.

Participants from UPN "Veteran" Jakarta themselves competed in 2 (two) match sessions. The first session was to win the Senior Women's Individual Kumite class +68 kg and the second session was to win the Best Of The Best women's senior Kumite class. In the first session, participants from UPN "Veteran" Jakarta won first place in the Women's Individual Kumite class +68 kg.

The purpose of this activity is to hone skills and make achievements in competitions and to show the existence of the Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University in competition events. It is hoped that by participating in this activity, UPNVJ students can increase their sporting enthusiasm to continue to excel in sports. (Anisa's report)
