HumasUPNVJ - UPN "Veteran" Jakarta held a commemoration ceremony for Heroes' Day November 10 2019 in the ceremonial field in front of dr. Wahidin Sudiro Husodo Monday (12/11/18). As for acting as the ceremony supervisor, namely UPNVJ Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs Dr. dr. Ria Maria Theresa.

This year's Hero's Day has the theme "I am a Hero of Today". In the speech of the master of ceremonies, Dr. dr. Ria read out the message from the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia that, Presumably the Commemoration of Heroes' Day can increase our awareness to love our homeland more and protect it until the end of our lives. Heroes' Day is not only ceremonial, but can be filled with various activities that can foster a sense of nationalism and increase a sense of concern for helping others in need. With the commemoration of Heroes' Day, it is hoped that we will appreciate the services and sacrifices of the heroes more, as one of the Founding Fathers , Bung Karno, stated that “…. only a nation that appreciates the services of its heroes can become a great nation…”. In addition, on Heroes' Day, we must raise the spirit to innovate for the nation's children to become Heroes of the Day.

Apart from that, in closing, Dr. dr. Ria said "Happy Heroes' Day 2019, increase the spirit of heroes within us, heroes are not only to take up arms but heroes now must have many achievements that bring the name of the nation and country. May the spirit of heroes always color our every step.

The Heroes' Day ceremony was attended by 452 educational staff, 230 educators.
