Wednesday, December 18 2019, UPN Veteran Jakarta through the Faculty of Economics and Business held an International Public Lecturing with the theme "Sustainable Supply Chain Management in the Digital Era" with Prof. Benny Tjahjono, PhD., M.Sc., BEng who is a Professor of Supply Chain Management from Coventry University, United Kingdom.
The event opened with a report from the elected dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dianwicaksih Arieftiara. He explained "The Faculty of Economics and Business has successfully held eight Guest Lectures, 6 Public Lectures, 3 National Seminars and 1 International Conference during 2019. The hope is that by holding various kinds of activities, hopefully it can increase the knowledge of students and lecturers of the Faculty of Economics and Business, because what is learned happily, this knowledge will be remembered for a lifetime, "he said.
In this regard, the Chancellor of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, Erna Hernawati, expressed her appreciation to the Faculty of Economics and Business for successfully holding International Public Lecturing activities with relatively short preparation time, namely 7 days. He also expressed his hope that the material provided would benefit students and lecturers as well as resource persons to collaborate with UPN Veteran Jakarta regarding the curriculum.
"I really appreciate the Faculty of Economics and Business which has succeeded in organizing International Public Lecturing activities with a relatively short preparation time by holding this activity. It is hoped that the material presented by Prof. Benny Tjahjono, PhD., M.Sc., BEng can add knowledge to students and lecturers at UPN Veterans Jakarta. Besides that, it is hoped that in the future Prof. Benny Tjahjono, PhD., M.Sc., BEng can also join UPN Veteran Jakarta to review the curriculum so that it can be packaged even better. In addition, the implementation of this activity is also a commitment from the leadership to provide Guest Lectures delivered by Professors around the world, "he explained.
The material presented by Prof. Benny Tjahjono, PhD., M.Sc., BEng is very interesting because it is packaged very well with interactive video presentations. He said, he was very confident that Indonesia could also use technology like what was used by industries in other developed countries. The event became more interactive with several questions raised by several lecturers and students of the Faculty of Economics and Business which were answered well by Prof. Benny Tjahjono, PhD., M.Sc., BEng.
