UPNVJ Implements the New Normal Era Protocol in Friday Prayers

HumasUPNVJ - During this new normal transition period, the government has allowed residents to return to praying in congregation at the mosque, including Friday prayers.

UPN Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) again held Friday prayers, on Friday (19/06/2020). The implementation took place at the two UPNVJ mosques, namely the Manbaul Ulum UPNVJ Pondok Labu Mosque and the UPNVJ Limo Al Fikri Mosque.

About 293 people attended Friday prayers. The number of congregations is slightly reduced compared to normal times.

Suprima as General Chairperson of the UPN Veterans Jakarta Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) in his time when being interviewed said that in the current conditions the number of worshipers is somewhat reduced due to restrictions on the number of worshipers while still paying attention to the distance of the rows.

"Of course there is almost a slight reduction, because given the row spacing (stretched by 2 tiles), it can be seen that the mosque cannot accommodate it as normal conditions," said Suprima.

In his report Suprima also conveyed several arrangements for implementing health protocols that must be carried out by all pilgrims in monitoring UPNVJ DKM members.

He said specifically that UPNVJ DKM management must sterilize worship support facilities at the Manbaul'ulum and Al Fikri mosques according to health protocols so that cleanliness is maintained and setting a safe distance for congregational prayers at the mosque with a distance limit of 2 tiles marked with a cross.

Not only that, Suprima also added that members should monitor and implement several health protocols for worshipers who enter the mosque.

"Checking the body temperature of employees by the security guard before entering the campus environment, checking the use of masks by the congregation, spraying disinfectants at each of the Manbaul'ulum and Al Fikri mosques, preparing soap in each of the Manbaul'ulum and Al Fikri mosques to wash hands before ablution, during prayer times do not use air conditioning only fans, all windows are opened so that air circulation runs smoothly, it is not recommended to shake hands, employees/employees who want to pray in congregation at the mosque are strongly encouraged to perform ablution from the office and after prayer leave the mosque, don't crowd around,” explained Suprima.

Technically, Friday prayers are held in general by presenting Ust. Ade Nur Rohim and Ust. Suprima as the khatib and also the imam of the prayer and the implementation went smoothly while still prioritizing the health and cleanliness of the mosque's congregation.
