Faculty of Economics and Business Holds On Web Seminar – World Series 1 “Business Development and Governance Risk Control In Pandemic Era”

HumasUPNVJ - On Saturday, September 26 2020 an On Web Seminar - World Series 1 activity was held by the Masters Program Management Study Program (S2), Faculty of Economics and Business, UPN Veteran Jakarta with the theme " Business Development and Governance Risk Control In Pandemic Era . This inaugural World Series activity was carried out via online through a zoom meeting . Participants who attended were not only UPN Vetran Jakarta lecturers and students, but also lecturers and students from all over Indonesia and several countries such as Canada and Malaysia. The enthusiasm of the participants was seen from the large number of participants who participated until the end of the event. The number of participants reached 348 participants.

This event was held with the aim of increasing public knowledge in general and the academic community both inside and outside UPN Veteran Jakarta in particular. Participants' knowledge is expected to increase regarding risk management for both large and small business actors in the midst of uncertain environmental conditions, as well as the importance of HR commitment in this regard. In addition, flexible business strategies and policies are very important to be able to maintain and even create jobs in the current new normal conditions. Solidarity at the HR level, as well as effective and transparent governance among the government, academics and business actors are needed to be able to work together to adapt to changes in the Covid 19 era.

The first series of “ Seminar On Web – World Series ” is divided into four sessions. The first session was filled by the keynote speaker , namely Dr. Tuti Wahyuningsih Irman, Consulate General of the Indonesian Consulate General for Vancouver Canada. The next session was filled by Professors in the field of Economics, namely Prof. Dr. Ir. Dominicus Sonny Priyarsono, MS, which was followed by a presentation session from the President Director of the Wales Young Institute Vancouver Canada, namely Mr. Harry Alamsyah. The last session, namely the question and answer session, was guided by the moderator, namely Sarasjatie A. Pramono who is also a final year student in the Masters Program. This event received a very good response and high enthusiasm from the participants because it was useful as input for not only the government and academia, but also business people and society in general in dealing with uncertainty since the outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic.
