Hunting for Job Vacancies, UPNVJ Opens Jobfair Online

HumasUPNVJ - Sunday, October 11 2020 the UPN Veteran Jakarta Online Jobfair took place, which was organized by the Bank Indonesia Corner Study Club in collaboration with NusaTalent and UPT Career Development and Entrepreneurship UPNVJ.

This year's UPN Veteran Jakarta Jobfair was held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Jobfair consists of two series of events, namely a Webinar with the theme "How to Impress HR Person & Win Recruitment Process" . Then it will be followed by the opening of job fair activities which last for 2 days, starting from Sunday 11 October to Monday 12 October 2020, starting at 11.00 to 16.00 every day.

The first day of the webinar was attended by 200 participants consisting of UPNVJ graduates and also UPNVJ students. This Jobfair accommodates 57 job positions from various agencies and companies that participants can apply for directly through the NusaTalent application.

The activity was opened with remarks by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Antar Venus, MA, Comm. The activity was also attended by Catur Nugrahaeni, M.Kom as the Head of UPT Career & Entrepreneurship Development and Siti Hidayati, SE., MM as the BI Corner Study Club Trustee. Hosted by Dona Chantia as Moderator and presenting Speaker, Steven Gouw as Co Founder and CEO of NusaTalent.

In the talkshow delivered by Steven Gouw he discussed "How to Impress HR Persons and Win Recruitment Process" by providing new knowledge about the importance of Personal Branding for young graduates and also tips on how to apply Personal Branding on social media. The enthusiasm of the participants was proven by the 28 questions asked in the 25-minute QnA session. In fact, not all questions were answered by the resource persons due to the limited time available.

Through this activity, it is hoped that students and fresh graduates, especially from UPN Veteran Jakarta, will be better prepared to face the competition in the world of work. Optimizing the use of social media wisely in order to build professional branding that can make a good impression.

"Looking for a job in the current era is not the best time, because many companies are reducing employees. However, this is the time for us to learn many things that we don't know, cheaply and for free. For example, by participating in webinars," said Steven.

The end of the webinar session marks the transition from the Webinar to the Job Fair. In this session, the opening was carried out by Refi Muhammad Syafei (S1 Student of Accounting 2017 UPNVJ) as the chief executive of this year's Job Fair. The opening is filled with a reading of the participating companies and continued by reading out the available job vacancies from each company. The choices offered are also quite diverse, ranging from job vacancies, internships to volunteers .
