Humas UPNVJ - The Covid-19 pandemic is still the main barrier to holding face-to-face meetings, as the number of patients affected by this virus increases day by day. Many things have changed, now almost all activities are carried out from inside the house. One of the activities affected apart from lectures is seminar activities which used to be carried out offline or face to face, now almost all activities are carried out online . However, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of UPN Veteran Jakarta students who are members of the Social Sciences Student Organization, Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia Chapter UPNVJ (FPCI UPNVJ) to continue to carry out productive activities, namely holding a Webinar (Web Seminar) , Saturday 21 November 2020 .
This webinar activity discusses basic knowledge about the world of diplomacy and the diplomat profession. Talking about diplomats, as we know, diplomats are a dream profession for every international relations graduate student, a prestigious achievement that is the hope of some people who work in the world of international relations. A diplomat as a representative of a country is responsible for establishing diplomatic relations with the entity where he is assigned. A diplomat must have good diplomatic skills and qualified intellectual skills. In the classroom, students learn about diplomatic theories and various components related to international relations. However, being a diplomat is not as easy as it is described in the academic space. The lack of interaction between international relations students and professional diplomats results in incomplete information about the ins and outs and the ups and downs of this profession.
Therefore, the UPN Veteran Jakarta Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia Chapter through Behind The Success: Diplomat Edition is here to discuss diplomat careers and motivational aspects for the audience, especially new students from international relations studies.
The webinar , which was held by FPCI, carries the theme, namely Youth Empowerment with the title "Youth Become Diplomats: From Classrooms to Reality". Which presented several speakers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia with the aim of inspiring the participants based on their career experience as a diplomat and also invited outstanding students who shared their inspirational stories as active students who already had experience in diplomacy. These sources include; Dr. Bambang Susanto, MA, Raden Haikal Dhikananda, Neta Cynara Anggina and Farras Ghaly, which was attended by approximately 100 participants consisting of active UPNVJ students, and several students from other campuses such as UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, Gajah Mada University, Diponegoro University, Institute Social and Political Sciences, Jenderal Soedirman University, Makassar State University, and UIN Surabaya.
The UPNVJ Public Relations Team conducted a brief online interview with the President of the UPNVJ FPCI Chapter , Daffa Halin Ananda, in his interview Daffa expressed his hopes for the FPCI in the future by holding this Webinar, "The hope is that UPNVJ students, especially new students, will get enlightenment regarding working in state institutions. , especially at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so that they continue to increase their capacity while studying at university so they can achieve the goals/jobs they want, in the case of this webinar, namely Diplomats.” Said Dafa
The activity was followed by presentations from each speaker and discussion sessions.
