In his discussion Prof. Suwanto's social media literacy is the provision for becoming an outstanding student because information is king.

"A person's communication skills in social media will show that person's behavior"

Actually literacy has a fairly broad meaning, but here we will focus on literacy in social media. The first thing that can be done is awareness, being aware of what is happening to the environment around you and Enlightenment, knowledge available in digital media produced by other people.

"The "VALUE" of a student is largely determined by how he perceives and utilizes available social media," said Prof. Suwatno.

He also said that a student does not need to master all the data in digital media, because the most important thing is that students must know an effective way to only obtain the data they need, be able to filter data into relevant information, be able to select reliable data and know how to function. work on digital media comprehensively to be utilized properly.

Discussing social media is felt to be endless, developments in each era force us to be sensitive to what is happening in the current digital era.

The use of social media is good and in accordance with the needs expected by the general public. In this case, the authors believe that each person is one of 160 million active social media users.

Currently, there is a lot of learning and scientific content available from various disciplines that can be obtained easily and for free through various social media platforms. However, there is only one prerequisite, namely the willingness to use social media to support academic success.

All behavior and whatever we use must have a risk, including the use of social media.

There are at least 3 forms of risk in using social media, including content risk, namely content that is inappropriate, websites that are unhealthy or contain hoaxes and pornography, risk of contact with other social media users who have the potential to cause harm and risks by producing negative content with hate nuances, SARA , and so forth.

As an educated group, they should be able to fill in social media content that benefits many people. This can be done with social media literacy, which among other things manages the flow of social media information consciously and has value in it and actively participates in guaranteeing responsible freedom when using social media.

To overcome hoax news spread on social media, Prof. Suwatno also said that we should always research the available information in a sequential and thorough manner and we would not immediately pass it on to other people, because we as educated students have freedoms that must be accounted for.

In order to eliminate inappropriate content, Prof. Suwatno provides tips which include using good and correct language so as not to pose a risk of misunderstanding, respecting the opinions of others, having control over content, not overposting by controlling the number of uploads, and not plagiarizing either in terms of name or type of content to be disseminated .
