FIKES UPNVJ Signs Cooperation with SEAMEO SEAMOLEC

HumasUPNVJ - Thursday, May 6 2021 at the Open University Seamolec Building, UPN Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and signed a Memorandum of Agreement between the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) UPNVJ and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Open Learning Center (SEAMEO SEAMOLEC).

SEAMEO SEAMOLEC is an institution under the auspices of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) which is responsible for developing Open Education and Distance Education in Southeast Asia. SEAMOLEC is headquartered in Indonesia and works closely with the Ministry of National Education, especially institutions that organize Distance Learning (PJJ) and program support institutions.

The signing was carried out directly by Dr. Erna Hernawati, Ak, CPMA, CA Chancellor of UPN Veterans Jakarta and Dr. drg. Wahyu Sulistiadi, MARS Dean of FIKES with R. Alpha Amirrachman, M.Phil., Ph.D., Director of SEAMEO SEAMOLEC.

In this case, the Chancellor of UPNVJ expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be able to work together again with SEAMEO SEAMOLEC which was previously done in 2016. The Chancellor also said that this collaboration was carried out with the aim of providing a new breakthrough in the Distance Learning (PJJ) system which is currently being carried out by UPNVJ.

"Previously we weren't really ready for this PJJ system, but with the arrival of Covid-19 it gave a strong impetus to be able to adapt and carry out PJJ for an unspecified period of time, with the existing conditions we have been able to adapt gradually and can run quite well. which at the same time raises new learning methods for the future. My hope is especially for the Dean of FIKES and his staff to be able to take advantage of, follow up on and realize the results of this collaboration," said the Chancellor in his remarks.

Based on the points attached to the Cooperation agreement, this activity was carried out based on the encouragement that education must be developed, educational development will be more effective with the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Implementation of the SEAMOLEC Model in Industry 4.0 Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) , the development of education will be more effective in the learning process for students. Implementation of the Free Learning Program – Independent Campus (MBKM), and that SEAMEO SEAMOLEC and FIKES UPNVJ have the same goals and complement each other to work together in several fields of education, especially in the use of ICT in learning.

In accordance with their respective authorities, duties and functions, the parties agreed to work together in the SEAMEO SEAMOLEC Modeling Program in the field of Implementation of the Merdeka Campus Program – Freedom of Learning and Implementation of Competence Improvement in Industry 4.0 Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR).

On this occasion, representatives of the SEAMOLEC team wanted to provide something that UPNVJ really needed. The representative also explained that their team offered two teaching aids, namely Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR).

In the process, the training is carried out by bringing the SEAMOLEC team to campus, which can later collaborate with students in preparing digitalization learning. Digitalization learning where this will add new works in a varied and creative learning process.

Taufik Maryusman, S.Gz, MPd, M.Gizi., as Deputy Dean of Academic FIKES, said that with this collaboration, it was hoped that two benefits would emerge, namely adding indicators of increasing KPI and developing learning models.

Based on discussions held, the results of the agreed cooperation can later be realized in the next odd semester, for which preparations will be made starting in June 2021.

In this discussion the MBKM program will also be carried out, especially in the apprenticeship program. The SEAMOLEC team has an internship program with a duration of 1 semester.

In practice, internships are carried out to develop microlearning teaching materials. The goal is for students to develop microlearning , in order to be able to utilize multimedia-based teaching materials, be able to develop multimedia and blog-based learning content. The design of the internship includes 2 credits of learning design, 6 credits of learning media platforms, 12 credits of developing learning content.
