UPNVJ Holds Talkshow on Establishment of Center for Central Asian Studies at UPNVJ

HumasUPNVJ - Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) is proud to announce the success of a talk show on the prospects for cooperation between Central Asia and Southeast Asia entitled “Indonesia: Opportunities and Challenges amidst Today’s International Dynamics.”

Organized in a hybrid manner, this activity is part of the initiative to establish the Center for Central Asian Studies at UPNVJ, which aims to strengthen academic and cultural relations with the Central Asian region.

The event was attended by a number of honored guests, including the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Indonesia, HE Mr. Serzhan Abdykarimov; the Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, Dr. Mochammad Fadjroel Rachman, SE, MH;

In addition, there was also the Indonesian Ambassador to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan for the 2010-2014 period, Drs. Mohamad Asruchin, MA. Their presence all showed strong support for the UPNVJ initiative in deepening relations between Indonesia and countries in Central Asia.

The event began with the singing of the national anthems of Indonesia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, which symbolized the spirit of unity between the countries.

On that occasion, Bambang Susanto as Head of the UPNVJ International Affairs Office (KUI), emphasized the importance of the Central Asian region in the global context and the broad potential for cooperation in trade and investment.

The discussion was moderated by a lecturer from the International Relations study program, Andi Kurniawan, S.Sos., M.Sc., and was filled with presentations from various speakers. One of them was the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, HE Mr. Serzhan Abdykarimov, who emphasized the importance of connectivity and potential collaboration between Central Asia and Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Dr. Mochammad Fadjroel Rachman, presented an overview of the history of cooperation and opportunities in the trade, digital industry, and tourism sectors.

Closing the event, Bambang said that this event marked the first step in establishing closer academic and research cooperation.

"This talk show is not only a forum for sharing information, but also a concrete step in building stronger collaboration between Indonesia and Central Asia. We hope that this study center can be a place to discuss and develop useful collaboration programs," said Bambang.

Through this initiative, UPNVJ is committed to continuously strengthening international cooperation and improving the quality of education, while opening up new opportunities in the fields of research and cultural exchange.
