HumasUPNVJ - UPN Veteran Jakarta continues to be proud because it has outstanding students. The pandemic, which seems to be a big obstacle for some people, is not an obstacle for UPNVJ students. They continue to prove that achievements can be achieved at any time if accompanied by effort regardless of the obstacles that exist. This can also be seen from the achievements that one of the beautiful UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine students, Reycha Nabila Oktaviana, continues to achieve. Reycha has participated in many prestigious competitions at the national and international levels and will surely succeed in winning. Recently, Reycha once again made her alma mater proud, she received the Most Outstanding Delegate award in the Model United Nation competition organized by the Global Millennial Group , which is one of the international start-ups engaged in soft skill development.

MUN is a debate competition event by adapting a world diplomat conference simulation held by the United Nations (UN). MUN is usually attended by students majoring in international relations, but Reycha tries to challenge herself to prove her English language skills, public speaking, critical thinking, research, and diplomacy .

In her written report, Reycha explained that the MUN participants who took part in this competition played the role of diplomats representing a country that is part of an international organization, in this case Reycha won the Delegate of Virgin Islands lottery at the United Nations Children's Funds (UNICEF) , then discussed one topic. global issues and diplomatically seek solutions to overcome them by producing a draft resolution. Also this time, GM MUN 6.0 raised the global issue "Child Awareness Towards Fast Food Addiction".

UPNVJ Public Relations conducted an online interview with Reycha, in her interview Reycha told a lot about her journey to take part in this competition, "This activity will take place from 29 to 30 May 2021 online. The reason I took part in this activity was because I have always been interested in testing my English and public speaking skills. Incidentally, in this MUN competition, you are required to communicate in full English formally to discuss a global issue and find a solution, so I think this is the right choice.” Reycha said

Apart from explaining the main reason for participating in this activity, Reycha also shared a bit of the preparations she had prepared, starting with research , finding out about status quo issues and also reading a lot of news related to the country she would represent, "Because the MUN requires us to collect position papers before the D-day of the conference , so there are a number of things that I have to prepare, including I have to do research first about the country that I will represent, about the mandate of UNICEF, then about the status quo issue and how my country will react to this issue . And most importantly, I also read the news more often, the Virgin Islands government website , the CIA website, and the latest news.” he continued

"I am happy to take part in a competition like this because of course it can be used for self -improvement in the field of English, scientific research , and even writing . Although in fact there must have been a number of things that could be considered sad, because I am a medical student so it was rather difficult to arrange preparation time. Then between the first day and the second day, participants have to produce Working Papers and Draft Resolutions , discussing them is not enough just in a formal conference so at night you have to meet with friends who have similar stances to make the two papers needed, so it's twice as tiring fold haha." Reycha's story to PR

Reycha closed the interview session by giving a message to her colleagues so that other friends could take part in productive activities like this regardless of their background , "For other friends, everyone can be anyone , even though we are not from HI or Law students. ( stereotype MUN enthusiast ) but we can also participate in MUN, learn from the best, prepare at your best, and let God do the rest. For myself personally, I hope my achievement can be useful and become something of pride for myself and those around me.” The lid is full of hope
